Self-drive Whilst planning your journey, please bear in mind that motorway tolls must be paid in Austria, France and Switzerland. Snow chains are often compulsory, and parking in most French ski resorts is subject to a charge. Ice scrapers, de-icing spray and an auto atlas should also be brought along.
