Cross-country Maurach
The Achensee region boasts one of the largest and best maintained cross-country networks in Austria and has been distinguished with four stars by the ADAC regarding cross-country skiing! A total of 166 km of trail covering all levels of difficulty are available, and beginners can take lessons in all resorts. Maurach also offers 33 km of cross-country trails, 12 km of which can also be used as skating trails. Maurach is also home to many very recommended cross-country trails! An absolute highlight for cross-country fans is the trail from Pertisau to Falzthurn Valley, which runs over 14 km long, directly under the Karwendel cliff wall into a sunny valley. Pure cross-country fun can be had on the Guffert trail, which is 12 km long. All resorts in the Achensee region also offer trails specially prepared for the skating style. Several dog trails are also available in Pertisau, which however require a fee.
