Cross-country Pertisau
The region of Achensee includes one of the largest and best-kept networks of cross-country trails in Austria, and received a rating of 4 stars from the ADAC in the category of cross-country. In total, there are 166 km of trails with all levels of difficulty, and beginners can participate in classes in all resorts. An absolute must for cross-country fans is the trail from Pertisau into the Falzthurn Valley, which spans over 14 km through dense escarpments of the Karwendel into a sunny valley. Furthermore, a 12 km-long stretch of pure cross-country delight can be enjoyed on the Guffert trail. All the resorts in the Achensee region also offer trails prepaired for skating-style cross-country. In Pertisau, a dog-trail is also available (fee payable locally).
