The Alpbach Valley lies in the heart of Tyrol, only a stone's throw away from the well-known Ziller Valley. Mass tourism is not (yet) known here; tradition and a rustic comfortable atmosphere are at the top of the list. 52 well cared for kilometres of piste and 20 lift systems at an altitude of 1,000 - 2,025 m await you. Whilst pros venture down the FIS runs at the Hornboden, snowboard fans enjoy themselves in the fun park, which has a half-pipe. Additionally, approx. 50 km of tracked cross-country runs, 90 km of winter hiking trails and numerous activities ensure that there is enough variety. The cosy main resort of Alpbach (1,000 m), was declared the "loveliest village in Austria" in the 1980s and was voted "best small skiing village in Europe" in 2004. The village lies in the inner Alpbach Valley on a sunny plateau with a heavenly view and direct access to the ski area at the Wiedersberger Horn. As Inneralpbach forms the head of the valley, peace and tranquility reigns here, without disturbing traffic. Alpbach entices its guests with its historic ambience and a whole lot of recreational activities. The splendid guesthouses promise a hearty atmosphere before you even set foot inside them.
