The Dachstein-West region is located in the boarder region of Upper Austria and the Salzburger Land and is a very popular holiday area for many skiing fans. A gorgeous panorama and diverse, comprehensive winter sports and apres ski options pleasantly surprise visitors. Not only do serious alpine sports stand at the fore; rather, a winter atmosphere for normal skiers and families is also a priority. In addition to wide pistes, cracks will find challenging deep snow runs, e.g. on Zwieselalm. In the upper Austrian "Gosauer Hintertal", not far from Salzburg, is the resort Gosau. Its three districts Vordertal, Mittertal and Hintertal stretch over 11 km in a beautiful upper valley at the foot of the Gosau ridge. As in the other resorts in the region, visitors can experience true Austrian traditions in Gosau. Families in particular value the area around the Dachstein-West ski area, as easy to intermediate pistes are not all that Gosau has to offer. Relaxation opportunities in addition to the snowy sports world provide non-skiers with a wonderful, unforgettable time.
