At the end of the Möll Valley, in the national park Hohe Tauern, lies Heiligenblut, surrounded by 40 threethousander peaks. This is where the first ascent of the Großglockner started out from, which at 3,798 m is the highest mountain in Austria. Even today the region is regarded as the cradle of alpinism. Due to its height (1,300 - 2,900 m) and its location on the main chain of the Alps, the Heiligenblut ski region guarantees snow security until far into the spring. Heiligenblut (1,301 m) lies at the foot of the Großglockner at the upper end of the Möll Valley in the Hohe Tauern National Park. As the adjoining Großglockner high alpine road is closed in the winter, the small alpine town is free of through traffic, which adds to the peaceful atmosphere. In addition to the snowy fun in the ski area, every holidaymaker will find a suitable form of entertainment in Heiligenblut, from the indoor pool to the tobogganing run, ice skating rink, as well as cosy cafes and restaurants right through to après ski bars and discos; here you will find (almost) everything. The ski crèche "Snowland", and "Bobo Kinder Club" children's club ensure that there is a lot of fun to be had! Winter hiking trails invite you to savour and relax in the appealing landscape.
