The impressive massifs of both Wilder and Zahmer Kaiser form the spectacular setting for the region of Kaiserwinkl with its winter sports resorts. The region which is directly on the border to Germany has recently developed into a true winter sport paradise. In total, 55 kilometres of piste provide an attractive range for skiers as well as snowboarders. The longest of these pistes measures 7 km and has a difference in altitude of over 1,000 m! Cross-country skiers will find all types of cross-country trails in the dense networks of tracks and across the frozen Walchsee. Along with this, there is excellent après ski and a wide range of leisure activities. Schwendt - the holiday experience!

The romantic village of Schwendt lies at an altitude of around 700 m in the Kaiserwinkl holiday region. It is the nearest to the flanks of the Wilder Kaiser and is towered over by the Unterberghorn. Instead of mass tourism, here you will experience pure relaxation and rest. There are no large hotels, rather cosy, familiar pensions. The corresponding ski area Unterberghorn is easily reached from neighbouring Kössen and has more then 30 kilometres of piste and 10 lifts, which transport you to the dominantly easy to medium runs. The rustic taverns offer a homelike and relaxed atmosphere and invite you in to feast and savour.
