Ski area Zillertal Arena

With the "Zillertal Superskipass" you can choose between 542 kilometres of pistes (incl. ski routes and snow parks) in Hochfügen, on the Spieljoch, in Hochzillertal, in the Zillertal Arena (Zell, Gerlos, Königsleiten, Wald, Krimml u. Gerlosstein), in the Ski and Glacier World Zillertal 3000 (Mayrhofen, Finkenberg, Eggalm, Rastkogl, Hintertux Glacier) and in the Wildkogel Arena near Bramberg. The ski areas are connected in an exemplary manner via a free bus and train shuttle (see ski region).

Krimml is part of the "Zillertal Arena" and thus offers you seamless access to 147 kilometres of pistes and 52 lifts at up to 2,500 m above sea level. From the village you can quickly reach the manageable pistes below the Gerlosplatte as well as the sunny slopes at the Königsleitenspitze. The Zillertal Arena offers very varied downhill runs for every type! The longest valley run, 9.7 km, leads from Stoanmandl via Ebenfeld to the Isskogl valley station. Experts venture on the black "Abfahrt Nr. 6" in the Krummbachtal, while deep snow and freeride fans find their stomping grounds around Gerlos.

Freestylers will be happy as can be at the "Hotzone Snowpark" in Gerlos. In addition, the deep snow slopes of the Sportbahn Kapauns, the Wilden Krimml and at the Kreuzjoch are made for boarders. Children's slopes and a ski kindergarten with a special children's programme provide exciting entertainment for the little ones.

Accompanying the Isskogelbahn, the new Dorfbahn from Gerlos now also leads into the heart of the Zillertal Arena. The new 10-person gondola lift built for the 2016/17 season has a mighty valley station with sports shop, ski rental and ski depot as well as over 200 new parking spaces.

As a highlight in the Zillertal, we recommend a trip to the Hintertux Glacier, which is one of the best glaciers in the Alps due to its size and challenging slopes.

Après ski Krimml

The Ziller Valley is known as an apres ski stronghold in Austria and Krimml is no exception. Lodges, bars and restaurants invite you in to party, dine and enjoy. Relax over a couple of drinks in the "Castello Schirmbar" or in the "Schönmoosalm", or enjoy a lively atmosphere at the "Krimmler Postalm". If you really want to party, head to the "Krimmler Kuhstall".

A day trip to the frozen Krimml water falls, whether alone or on a guided torchlight tour, or a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snow-covered winter landscape lets every romantic's heart beat faster. Whether relaxation or party - there are options to suit every mood!

Snowpark: Hotzone Snowpark Krimml

In the Zillertal Arena there are various opportunities for freestylers. Gerlos' house park, the "Hotzone Snowpark" lies at an altitude of 2,050 m and is distributed over an area of 30,000 m² between the Vorkogel lift and the Ebenfeld express.

Here you will find exactly the right thing for beginners, as well as pros. Beginners can improve their skills and practise new moves on the beginner-line on an easy and compact set-up. The pro/medium combo-line, located in the middle of the park, challenges intermediates and pros. On the kicker-line, which starts with two smaller jumps, you can devote you time to air time and go crazy. Those who would like to relax after an exhausting day in the snow can take advantage of the new chill area with great sound system and just observe other freestylers.

Especially suitable for children is the Funpark in Hochkrimml. Its kickers are rather small, so that beginners get a great opportunity to brush up on their skills.

Even more fun can be found in the Zillertal Arena. Besides the "Hot-Zone Snowpark" there is also the "Action-Park Kreuzwiese" in Zell which offers some great highlights. Action fans will find a snakerun, bag-jump, "BMX xDrive Cup SkiMovie"-track and "BMW xDrive Speed Check"-track available! The half pipe at Fußalm in Gerlos awaits you with all sorts of fun and action.
