Ski Region Espace Killy
In the ski region L´Espace Killy you have the opportunity to buckle up your boots and ski directly from your door to the slopes. This enormous ski area, named after the 1968 3-time Olympic medallist Jean-Claude Killy, offers 300 kilometres of total ski enjoyment at heights of 1,550 m - 3,456 m, 89 modern lifts, ample deep snow areas and two first-class summer ski areas! On the "La Grande Motte" glacier at Tignes and the "Montet" glacier at Val d'Isère, you will also find excellent snow conditions from June to September. Val Claret, at the end of the upper valley, offers ideal starting points into the great ski arena: the "Funiculaire Grande Motte" brings you up to the glacier at 3,456 m in just a few minutes! Snowboarders will find a snow park at the valley station in Val Claret including half-pipe and also boarder cross, tables and jumps can be found just below the Grand Motte piste. Already at the valley station, you can see the peak of the Grande Motte glacier (3,465 m) and its steep runs. Experts will love the "La Sache" run: this difficult piste runs along 2.8 km, down 1,198 m! The pistes on the Tovière, Aiguille Percée and Col du Palet are more leisurely.
