Ski Area Brides les Bains
The cable car brings you from Brides les Bains up to the well-known winter sports resort Méribel (1450 m) and the ski area of the same name. Joining onto Brides les Bains, the Méribel ski area has 150 kilometres of pistes and 45 lifts. There are 43 green/blue pistes, 23 red and 7 black runs to ensure there's lots of fun to be had and a challenge for every level of skills. There are also two snow parks, including the Moonpark divided into three areas, and 28 km of ungroomed runs for snowboarders, freestylers and off-piste skiers. In 1992, the Olympic downhill races were held here, demonstrated by the "Compagnol", which is the longest run in the area. Highly recommended for advanced skiers is the 1 km long "Les Bosses", which surmounts 350 m in altitude and counts as one of the hardest runs in the region. Furthermore, Méribel is connected to the world-famous "Trois Vallées" ski region, which at 600 kilometres of pistes is one of the largest ski areas in the world.
