Beneath an impressive mountain scenery, in the heart of the "La Vanoise", lies the village of Val Cenis. This historical area stands apart from many mass ski resorts; nevertheless, it offers the infrastructure of a modern ski holiday destination. Since 2008, the ski area of Val Cenis is connected to Termignon, coming to a total of 125 kilometres of piste, going up to a snow-sure 2,800 m, provide the ideal setting for a perfect ski circuit – including Europe’s longest beginners' slope and thrilling black pistes. Val Cenis lies in the heart of the Savoyard Alps and is geographically close to Val d'Isère and Val Thorens near the Italian border. The village is made up of the districts Lanslevillard and Lanslebourg, which are only 3 km apart. Val Cenis has a complete tourist infrastructure, including shops, supermarkets, doctors, cinemas and a disco. The two districts and the cable car station are connected by complimentary shuttle buses. There are several chair lifts into the ski areas of both Lanslevillard and Lanslebourg. Both districts have managed to retain the Savoyard charm. Friendly locals, picturesque lanes and exceptional French cuisine are just some of the typical features, which make Val Cenis an ideal destination for winter holidays.
