Ski Area Val d'Isère
In Val d'Isère, home of the three-time Olympic champion Jean-Claude Killy, you can enter the huge ski area, named after the famous athlete. The lift pass "Espace Killy" offers 300 kilometres of ski enjoyment from 1,550 – 3456 m, 89 modern lifts and plenty of deep snow runs, as well as two first-class summer ski areas: optimum ski conditions from July to September on the glaciers “La Grande Motte” near Tignes and “Montet” near Val d’Isere! For snowboarders and freeriders there is a snow park with half-pipe at the valley station, and directly above is the huge free ride zone "Le Spot" with, among other things, boardercross. Standing at the lower base, one can see the peak of the Grande Motte glacier (3,656 m) and its steep pistes. Experts will love the “La Face de Bellevard” run in the area around Val d'Isère: the difficult piste runs 2.4 km and descends over 913 m! The slopes on Tovière, descending from the Col de Fresse down to La Daille as well as the "Santons-run" towards the resort centre are the more leisurely runs.
