Ski area St. Englmar

The St. Englmar ski region, with Grün-Maibrunn, Pröller-Ski-Dreieck, Predigtstuhl and Kapellenberg offers winter sport fans a number of nice ski areas. A total of 12 km of well prepared piste and 13 lifts gives you a small but good selection.

Modern snowmaking stations makes it snow safe even in March. In the Pröller-Ski-Dreieck, you can enjoy yourself in ideal slopes and fast pistes. But leisure skiers can also enjoy good skiing here.

Boards should make a detour to the ski area Predigtstuhl, as there is a new fun park here - the largest in Germany, actually, with flood lights and sound.

Night skiing Viechtach

Those who have not burned off enough energy over the day will find numerous floodlit pistes in all four ski areas in St. Englmar. In the Grün-Maibrunn ski area, 1.8 km of illuminated piste are available for nocturnal skiers from Monday to Saturday and in sufficient snow-conditions. It is similar the Pröll ski triangle: winter sports fans can look forward to 2,7 km of illuminated pistes, also from Monday to Saturday. Those who want to try out night skiing should visit the piste at Kapellenberg. Its 0.3 km are open daily until 20:00. At Predigtstuhl, two illuminated slopes are availabile on Saturday from 19:00 to 22:00.

Après ski Viechtach

After you have really burned off steam on the snowy slopes all day, head to one of the lodges directly on the piste. Viechtach also offers some bars and discos for fun and sociable evening hours.

Fresh air fans will love the winter hiking trails which offer lovely views of the surrounding nature. Guided hikes are offered locally for you to explore the region. You can sign up directly at tourist information in Viechtach. Another alternative is a snowshoe hike through the white winter landscape.

Snowpark: Snowpark Predigtstuhl Viechtach

In the ski area Predigtstuhl there a is snow park waiting for all snowboarders and freeskiers, covering a total of 500 m length.

For the 5-year celebration the obstacles have been redesigned again, so there are now a total of eight rails and boxes, various smaller jib kickers with tables between 3 and 10 m, and various jib obstacles such as barrels, logs, etc. which make up the largest fun park in the Bavarian Forest. Further this snow park in Predigtstuhl is only one within the Bavarian Forest which is fully illuminated throughout the whole week, in the evenings.
