Livigno is located at a snow-sure altitude of 1,816 m not far from the Swiss border. The village area Trepalle (1,900-2,250 m) is the highest-altitude permanently inhabited settlement in Europe. Traditional wooden houses dot the village, and the position on the southern side of the Alps drench the valley with lots of sun. In the duty-free zone of Livigno you'll be able to purchase not just perfume, alcohol and cigarettes (with restrictions on export), but also clothes, watches, cameras, and gasoline at up to 40% savings!
