skiing Antholz - downhill and cross-country ski enjoyment!

At the foot of the Plan de Corones (2,275 m), in the centre of the picturesque Val Pusteria, are 14 diverse and attractive South Tyrolean villages. Modern gondolas start from various stations and speed up to the peak, from which imposing 360-degree views unfold. Diverse sporting events take place here on a regular basis, e.g. the Val Pusteria ski marathons including the Valle di Casies run, the biggest sporting event in South Tyrol. 105 kilometres of piste, 31 modern lifts, a half-pipe, as well as ample recreational and sporting opportunities and lively après ski ensure a good deal off piste! This ski resort is also great for families, thanks to numerous facilities such as the "Croniworld". Antholz - downhill and cross-country ski enjoyment!

Antholz (1,241 m) stretches into the 18 km long Antholz Valley, a narrow side valley of the Val Pusteria. At the end is Lake Antholz, with the majestic Hochgall (3,435 m) rising over it. The glacier belongs to the Riesenferner Group, which connects the valley with Austria through the "Staller Sattel" Pass. Antholz is known, above all, as a cross-country and biathlon paradise: the annual biathlon world cup is held here, and the 2007 biathlon world championships was held on the local tracks.
Antholz also offers quite a bit to offer alpine skiers and boarders. The blue pistes on "Riepenlift" in Mitter Valley are perfectly suited for beginners and young skiers. Not far from Antholz (approx. 15 minutes) is the Plan de Corones ski area, which complements your ski enjoyment with over 100 kilometres of piste and lovely ski lodges. The ski area is easily and comfortably reached with the free ski bus! In addition to the pistes, the two toboggan runs "Staller Sattel" (5 km long) and "Steinzgeralm" (2.5 km long), as well as the ice skating rink, ensure additional winter fun. Various tours through snowy, fairy-tale landscapes and crunching snow await hiking enthusiasts.

Après Ski

During the biathlon world cup (January 2011), Antholz is a turbulent spot! The international audience celebrates some specially organised après ski parties together, turning night into day. During the rest of the year, relaxation seekers and families really get their money's worth. The typical bed and breakfasts and restaurants in the various districts spoil their guests with national and international dishes. Those looking for a more lively evening will find just the thing in nearby Plan de Corones: the après ski bars at the valley station in Reischach, as well as in Olang and St. Vigil, invite you to party.
Antholz also offers interesting alternatives during the day. It's possible to dare a racing run down the toboggan run on Lake Antholz or get to know a new side of the snowy landscape on a snowshoe hike. Ice staking fans are well provided for. Rest and relaxation can be found in the pools and saunas of the various hotels or at the pool complex "Erlebnisbad Cron4" in nearby Reischach.
