skiing Alba - fantastic Dolomites!
Val di Fassa is located in the southwest part of the Dolomites in Trentino and borders on to South Tyrol. The idyllic valley is dominated by some of the most famous Dolomite peaks, such as the Catinaccio group (2,983 m), the Langkofel (3.181 m), the mighty Sella group and the impressive Marmolada glacier (3,342 m). The small Avisio river meanders through the valley where three languages are spoken (German, Italian, Ladin) and passes many famous resorts. With nearly 220 km of piste and 85 lifts, it is one of the largest ski areas in the Dolomiti-Superski area and furthermore offers a connection to the world-renowned Sella Ronda. Val di Fassa, where tourism is the biggest source of income, offers its guests, alongside a first class ski area, plenty to see and do such as diverse leisure activities encompassing sport and relaxation, tradition and culture, hospitality and obviously the great Trentino cuisine. Alba - fantastic Dolomites!Alba (1,517 m), the quieter district of Canazei, is especially well-known for its black extreme run, which descends steeply into the valley. Three extremely challenging kilometres and a 658 m altitude difference are a must for every ambitious ski crack. Access to the pistes and tracks is made perfect, due to the cable car, which leaves from Alba and goes directly up to Ciampac (2,100 m). The rather traditional village offers its guests numerous paths and trails, which run directly from the valley floor to the mountain peaks. These surround the resort and are a popular destination for hiking enthusiasts.
