The popular Meiringen-Hasliberg region, only 10 min. from Brienz and Brienz Lake, is composed of several small to medium-sized villages. In the middle of the Bernese Oberland, located in front of the beautiful Glogghüs (2,534 m) and Rothorn (2,350 m), the surroundings offer unbelievable views of the idyllic mountain panorama. The region is especially appealing to winter sports fans: with 60 kilometres of pistes and 35 km of cross-country trails you will find a lot of diversity; pure winter fun is guaranteed. You don't need to go searching for something to do off-piste either. The Hasli Valley places emphasis on relaxation, culture, fun and action. The lively resort of Meiringen is one of the most famous in Bernese Oberland. The main resort of the Hasli Valley is situated at approx. 600 m altitude at the foot of the Rothorn and allows easy access to the ski area by taking the Alpach-gondola, by foot or by taking the car. The village was largely made famous through the dessert "meringues" and the creator of Sherlock Holmes, who used the resort as a setting in one of his books. Therefore, it is not surprising that you can visit a Sherlock Holmes museum in Meiringen. Furthermore, Meiringen offers a comprehensive selection of leisure activities for young and old.
