1. Europe’s highest ski area<\/h2>\n

If you go to Zermatt for a ski holiday, you will have the pleasure of visiting the highest ski area in Europe. The ski area Matterhorn ski paradise is located at an altitude of almost 4,000 metres and thus offers a breathtaking panoramic view of numerous Alpine giants and glaciers. 3. Matterhorn – a dream setting<\/h2>\n

The Matterhorn is probably one of the most impressive backdrops in the world. Its striking peak rises to a height of 4,478 metres, making the mountain one of the highest in the Alps. It’s no wonder that the Matterhorn also serves as a Swiss landmark and is one of the most photographed tourist attractions. 4. Europe’s highest 3S mountain railway<\/h2>\n

In Zermatt, not only is skiing an experience, but also riding the lifts. Here, among other things, the highest three-cable gondola takes skiers to the summit. Known as the “Matterhorn Glacier Ride”, it leads from the “Trockener Steg” to the “Klein Matterhorn” and ends, as it should, at the highest mountain station in all of Europe at 3,883 metres.<\/p>\n

5. Extensive off-piste offer for young and old alike<\/h2>\n

Zermatt, which is car-free, not only offers a first-class skiing area, but also numerous off-piste activities for all ages. How about ice skating, curling or tobogganing? Or perhaps you prefer wellness or shopping in the sophisticated centre? The Glacier Palace, located directly in the glacier and 15 metres below the earth’s surface, is an absolute highlight for families. Or, you can take the “Gornergratbahn”, Europe’s highest open-air cogwheel railway, to the top station on the Gornergrat and enjoy the spectacular view of the Matterhorn.<\/p>\n
