The lift pass is the key<\/h2>\n

Is the lift pass only for using the lifts? Not everywhere. In some ski resorts, it also serves as an electronic trigger for cameras. At so-called \u2018photo points\u2019 \u2013 usually situated at vantage points with stunning panoramic views \u2013 guests can have their photo taken for free using their ski pass. Many of these photo services are linked to the online platform skiline.cc, which offers around 20 photo points and over 80 ski movie routes in Austria alone. The photos and ski movies taken there can be viewed online using your ski pass number and downloaded. Some photo points also offer a special backdrop. Here are a few attractive examples:<\/p>\n

Big 3 in S\u00f6lden<\/h2>\n

Where the mountains are at their highest, the panoramic views are particularly breathtaking. As such, the\u00a0S\u00f6lden ski area<\/a>, with its 3,000-metre peaks, is the perfect setting for unique photographs. The mountain stations on the Tiefenbach, Gaislach and Schwarzkogel glaciers are not only the three highest ski peaks in the ski area, but also the \u2018Big 3\u2019: the roof terrace at the panoramic restaurant next to the Gaislachkogelbahn, the panoramic rock walkway at the Tiefenbachkogl, which juts out 20 metres over the precipice, and the nature platform above the Schwarzen Schneidbahn mountain station. Here you\u2019ll find fantastic viewing platforms and superb photo spots.<\/p>\n

Ski resort operator KitzSki has come up with a particularly attractive backdrop for souvenir photos: on the Steinbergkogel (1,971 m) in the Kitzb\u00fchel ski resort<\/a>, winter sports enthusiasts can take a seat in a 6-seater chairlift featuring a large red Kitzgams logo, which enhances the photo opportunity. At the Brunnbahn mountain station (1,930 m) on the Pengelstein, one of the sporty 8-seater chairlifts with red and black leather seats has even been set up. The Hohe Tauern mountains tower in the background.<\/p>\n

Souvenir with mascot<\/h2>\n

The mascots of the ski resorts<\/a> offer an unusual motif with recognition value. The Katschberg<\/a>, for example, has posted the cheerfully laughing Katschi at its photo point. The blue heart greets friendly with its striped hat next to the mountain station of the Tschaneckbahn on the Katschberg.<\/p>\n

FUNty the yellow elephant is the mascot of the Zillertal Arena<\/a> and therefore a welcome photo opportunity for group pictures at the photo point. You can find this large trunked creature for your group photo at the Arena Stadl in Zell, the Arena Center in Gerlos and the Plattenkogel-X-Press in Hochkrimml.<\/p>\n

On the wooden throne<\/h2>\n

In the Hochk\u00f6nig ski resort<\/a>, souvenir photos are taken on the Mountain King\u2019s throne. Wooden chairs, modelled on the Hochk\u00f6nig logo in the shape of a crown, serve as a viewing and photo spot. These elegant seats are located at the six \u2018box seats\u2019 along the \u2018K\u00f6nigstour\u2019, a 32-kilometre circular route that takes skiers right across the ski resort. It offers stunning views of the Hochk\u00f6nig and the Steinerne Meer.<\/p>\n

A wooden raised seat serving as a photo prop can also be found in Westendorf in the Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental<\/a>. Here, the photo spot consists of a wooden seat with a wide seat that can accommodate two people.<\/p>\n

In the footsteps of the ski pros<\/h2>\n

Anyone who wants to see themselves striking a ski racer\u2019s pose can have their photo taken in the start hut of famous race courses. Take the Swiss ski resort of Wengen<\/a>, for example, where the photo point is located in the start hut of the famous Lauberhorn Downhill. On some speed check courses, the photo is taken at the thrilling moment of crossing the finish line, e.g. in S\u00f6lden, Saalbach, the Zillertal Arena, Nassfeld and St. Johann-Alpendorf (near Salzburg).<\/p>\n
