The Gornergrat cogwheel railway from Zermatt takes hotel guests up to the hotel entrance at 3,100 metres above sea level. When guests look out of the window of the comfortable rooms, all they see is glacier ice and rock, wisps of clouds and blue sky &#8211; and 29 four-thousand-metre peaks, including the famous Matterhorn. What a panorama! Here, however, not only the view is fascinating, but also the air is thin. Acclimatisation is important, and some people have to be prepared for poor sleep and increased appetite due to the altitude. If you don&#8217;t mind, you can spend a great holiday in a three-star hotel of a higher standard. If you then spend the night at 3,000 m above sea level, your skiing happiness is almost perfect. Up here, &#8220;Teufels K\u00fcche&#8221; serves regional and international specialities and there is room for up to 180 guests in the double and multi-bed rooms as well as group accommodation in the house. From the valley station on the Bernina Pass road to the mountain house takes about 10 minutes on the Diavolezza cable car. The mountain restaurant offers great events such as the summit dinner followed by a moonlight ride. The 10 km-long glacier run leads downhill through the bizarre ice world of the Morteratsch and Pers glaciers. This run is the longest of its kind in Switzerland. In total, the Diavolezza-Lagalb glacier ski area offers around 30 km of downhill runs with exclusively red or black markings, as well as beautiful ski touring routes. A dream for advanced snow lovers.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"wedelh\u00fctte-(austria)\">Wedelh\u00fctte (Austria)<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Place: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snowtrex.co.uk\/austria\/kaltenbach_ried_stumm\/ski-holidays.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kaltenbach<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Altitude: 2,350 m<\/li>\n<li>Skiing area: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snowtrex.co.uk\/austria\/kaltenbach_ried_stumm\/ski-area.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hochzillertal-Hochf\u00fcgen<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Wedelh\u00fctte is one of the classiest ski huts in the entire Zillertal and is also a modern five-star alpine mountain hotel. With a new premium lounge and sky terrazza, a gourmet kitchen and the highest wine vault in the region, it stands for a special enjoyment experience on the mountain. The hotel has a total of eleven suites with infrared cabins and many other extras. Connoisseurs can relax in the Finnish sauna, in the steam bath or in the whirlpool on the snow balcony terrace. In the hotel above 2,000 m, value is placed on luxury, so recently there are even Nespresso machines in all rooms. The best thing about the hut, however, is its location directly in the Hochzillertal-Hochf\u00fcgen ski area. It&#8217;s not called the Wedelh\u00fctte for nothing; here you get on your skis after breakfast and immediately start skiing down the virgin piste. The Hochzillertal-Hochf\u00fcgen ski area offers a total of around 90 kilometres of pistes, and in the entire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snowtrex.co.uk\/austria\/zillertal\/ski-holidays.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zillertal<\/a> there are even around 530 kilometres that can be skied with the Zillertal Superskipass. If you want to add to all this luxury, you can take the VIP gondola up to the Wedelh\u00fctte. One cabin of the Leitner lift was upgraded in cooperation with BMW and is designed from the inside like the cockpit of a noble limousine for two.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"adler-lounge-(austria)\">Adler Lounge (Austria)<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Place: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snowtrex.co.uk\/austria\/kals_am_grossglockner\/ski-area.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kals am Gro\u00dfglockner<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Altitude: 2,621 m<\/li>\n<li>Skiing area: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snowtrex.co.uk\/austria\/kals_am_grossglockner\/ski-holidays.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gro\u00dfglockner Resort Kals-Matrei<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The gourmet hut on Austria&#8217;s highest mountain, the Gro\u00dfglockner (3,798 m), impresses above all with its very good cuisine. The Hauben restaurant serves traditional hut dishes as nobly composed meals. However, the Adlerhorst is not only a hut stop for skiers, but also a chic lounge that embodies &#8220;a mixture of casualness, Tyrolean cosiness and modern design&#8221;. With two flats for six people each and one room for a maximum of four people, the hotel&#8217;s living space above 2,000 m is manageable. But that is what makes the hut so exclusive. The house is located at 2,621 m and thus at snow-sure altitudes.
