skiing Switzerland: Snow up your Life!

Switzerland offers breathtaking alpine beauty. Traditional top ski resorts such as Davos or Zermatt alternate with family-friendly and idyllic winter sports resorts.

Bernese Oberland:
Numerous 4,000 m mountains, idyllic villages, modern lift systems and famous winter sport resorts including Grindelwald or Meiringen-Hasliberg guarantee a fine ski holiday! In addition to panoramas of the Breinz and Thun lakes, spectacular panoramas of the icy highlands and the world-famous peaks, e.g. Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau can be enjoyed every day!

Graubünden:
The largest of the Swiss cantons presents itself as very versatile: varied ski areas, such as Flims-Laax-Falera, numerous spa facilities, world-famous ski resorts like Davos, St. Moritz or Samnaun, combined with first-class Swiss cuisine! It is not in vain that celebrities from all over the world come here year after year to enjoy the perfect winter holiday.

Wallis:
Wallis – a versatile winter paradise! Imposing backdrops of peaks, ice and snow: the highest mountains in Switzerland, crowned by the Matterhorn, stand here. The largest alpine glaciers are here as well, among them the Aletsch glacier, and impressive ski regions such as 4 Vallées, Saas-Fee and Les Portes de Soleil. Snowy forests and cosy, old wooden houses round off the breathtaking scenery.

Central Switzerland:
Central Switzerland stretches over five cantons - and the winter sports regions, stretching over rocky and icy highlands to the far hill country, are correspondingly diverse. The ski area Engelberg is located in the middle of the high Swiss Alps and is characterised by the imposing peak of the Titlis, which entices skiers and boarders from all corners of the world!

Cross country

Cross country skiing in Switzerland – fantastic tracks for endless cross country fun. This is true for beginners to real cracks on the skinny skies. Here the impressive landscape can distract from the fantastic tracks.

The Engadin valley with its world famous city of St. Moritz is considered the Alps’ cross country skiing heartland. Every year on the second Sunday in March there is the Engadin ski marathon. Thousands of cross country skiers race between Maloja and Zuoz with a distance of 42 km between them. With its many flat tracks, this region offers even the less ambitious skier a plentiful selection.

Also recommendable for cross country skiing fans is the idyllic mountain village of Adelboden in the western part of Berner Oberland. Around the village there are about 70 km of tracks with several higher tracks. The Sonnenloipe track on the Engstligenalp offers plenty of snow till spring.

An additional attractive area for cross country skiers in Switzerland: Engelberg, one-time cloister village, and today a modern winter sport Mecca. On the upper Trübsee tracks even dogs are allowed. A further attraction is the night skiing at the Sporting Park, with its length of 1,5 km, it has something to offer even experienced cross country skiers.
