Location

The traditional 3-star Gasthaus Landhotel Traunstein is located directly at the valley station of the Karkogel combination lift (gondola and chair lift), which takes you comfortably to the ski area. Skiing down to the hotel is possible when weather conditions allow it. You can also reach the Dachstein West ski region by ski bus, which stops very close to the hotel. The resort centre of Abtenau is about 1 km away. A cross-country trail and toboggan run are also close to the hotel and can be easily reached.

Facilities

The cosy hotel has a reception, lift, Wi-Fi, lounge, breakfast room, restaurant, bar, children's playroom, ski room and parking spaces (upon availability) as well as a charging station for electric vehicles (for a fee).

The well-kept approx. 120 m² spa area offers you a Finnish sauna, aroma steam bath, heated bench, infrared cabin and a relaxation room free of charge (opening hours as per notice in resort). Per request, you can also book massages (for a fee).

Board

The half-board included in the holiday price includes a rich breakfast buffet and a 5-course menu of your choice in the evening (3 main courses to choose from). Gluten-free, lactose-free, vegan and vegetarian dishes as well as dietary meals can be requested.

Important notes

  • Active Family promotion: 07/03/2026 - 06/04/2026 - When booking for 5 or more days, children born in 2010 or afterwards (ID required) receive a free multi-day ticket. The prerequisite is that at least one parent purchases a multi-day ticket of 5 days or more for the same period. If there are more children travelling with you than adults or if you do not meet the promotion requirements, a corresponding lift pass must be purchased on site. Further information is available at the lift ticket office.
  • In the event of loss or breakage of the room key, a fee of €5 will be charged.
  • When booking several-bed rooms or rooms with additional beds, there is no entitlement to the additional beds in the event of under-occupancy.
