Ski area Gaissau-Hintersee

Please note that the "Gaissau-Hintersee" ski resort is currently closed and there is no confirmed date for its reopening.

The "Gaissau-Hintersee" ski area offers winter sports enthusiasts an excellent range of facilities. Whether you’re a skier or a snowboarder, the approximately 34 kilometres of slopes are guaranteed to keep boredom at bay. Families and beginners are particularly well catered for here, as they can look forward to a ski resort that has been awarded the "TOP Family and Beginner Ski Resort" distinction.

Variety and diversity are a top priority here: from the magnificent sun-drenched run to the challenging deep-snow slope and mogul run, right through to Sami’s Enchanted Forest for the little ones – there’s something for everyone. There is also a trendy snow park for freestylers of all kinds.

The free ski bus takes you comfortably to the ski resort. From Faistenau, however, you can also reach numerous individual lifts, whose slopes are particularly suited to beginners, such as the Nockstein lifts in Koppl or the Thalgauberg in Thalgau.

Après ski Gaissau-Hintersee

Whether you’ve been skiing, tobogganing or hiking, you’ll need a hearty meal first. You can enjoy a good meal at one of the many local inns. If you still have the energy to party afterwards, head to the Schafbachalm. In the evenings, the alpine hut on the Schafberg transforms into a trendy bar, which remains a popular haunt even after dark. A visit to the Bramsau Bräu brewery is also well worth it. Here, the atmosphere, food and, of course, the beer are all of the highest quality, which is why the pub was named "Beer Pub of the Year" by the tourist board in 2005.

Snowpark Gaissau-Hintersee: Snowpark Boarder Park

Freestylers will also find plenty of space to let off steam at the Gaissau-Hintersee ski resort. The Boarder Park is managed by QPark and, at 700 metres in length, offers plenty of opportunities for all winter sports enthusiasts. 18 obstacles, 4 kickers and a corner, as well as rails, tubes, boxes and butter boxes, promise an action-packed day on the slopes. In between runs, you can relax in the cool chill-out area with its old-school lift hut.
