Ski area Gargellen ski area
In Gargellen, the skiing fun starts right on the doorstep. The Schafberg, Gargellen's main ski area, offers scenic and sporting variety. Whether on skis or a snowboard, whether a family or an ambitious winter sports enthusiast - there is something for everyone on the varied pistes. There are a total of 19 kilometres of blue pistes and 6 kilometres of red pistes. In addition to these easy to intermediate pistes, there are also challenging routes. Advanced skiers, for example, can enjoy themselves in deep powder snow or on one of the black pistes, which cover a good 3 kilometres of piste in total. For very young winter sports enthusiasts, there is the Schmuggi Luggi Winterland and a ski school with ski lessons and childcare. And after a successful day of skiing, you can ski down to the village - pure winter fun!
Gargellen is also known for its ski touring routes that lead through untouched snow fields. The local ski school organises the transnational Madrisa round tour for experienced deep-snow enthusiasts: from Gargellen to Klosters in Switzerland and back. As a ski tourer, you have the unique opportunity to see the alpine mountain world with different eyes.
For winter sports enthusiasts who like to ski in several ski areas, the Silvretta Montafon ski area is not far away. Less than 9 kilometres from Gargellen, winter sports enthusiasts can look forward to 141 kilometres of varied descent. With numerous options for all skill levels, freeriders and deep snow lovers, the Silvretta Montafon ski area is a worthwhile excursion from Gargellen.
Après ski Gargellen ski area
In addition, you will find a variety of après ski options spread across the entire ski area, from small ski huts to large restaurants. Here you will be offered a wide selection of food, from simple regional dishes to culinary delights.
Away from the pistes, there are several toboggan runs in the Montafon - including the longest night toboggan run in Vorarlberg at 5.5 kilometres. Night tobogganing also takes place at the Garfreschabahn every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Afterwards, you can enjoy a hearty mountain meal at the T3 Hotel Garfrscha and round off the evening in a rustic atmosphere (toboggan hire and dinner not included).
A worthwhile alternative to partying and tobogganing is snowshoeing in the Montafon. Numerous marked routes lead through snow-covered landscapes in the region - from leisurely to challenging, there is something for every level. A circular tour to the Rellseck guesthouse, for example, is particularly popular and can be completed in around 3.5 hours. Trails to the hunting lodge or in the direction of Kristberg also offer impressive views. If you don't know your way around or prefer to be accompanied, you can take part in guided snowshoe and winter hikes.
