Ski area Ischgl/Samnaun - Silvretta Arena

With the "VIP ski pass", winter sports enthusiasts in Ischgl can enjoy a unique experience on a total of 239 kilometres of piste and an additional 15 km of ski routes with 46 lift systems at an impressive altitude of up to 2,872 m. Thanks to this altitude and the perfect development with modern snowmaking facilities, reliability of snow is guaranteed from November to May.

The two-country interconnected ski areas of Ischgl, which are connected to the Swiss Samnaun, are among the largest ski areas in Austria. The longest piste, "Eleven", measures an impressive 11 km and leads from the highest point of the Greitspitze down to the village centre. On the expert piste "14a", where only experienced winter sports enthusiasts should try their hand at racing, there is a decline of up to 70 per cent. And the numerous deep-snow variants and mogul pistes also make experts' hearts beat faster. On the easy pistes around the Idalp, however, beginners can also slowly get to grips with winter fun. The ski area around Ischgl is also a real highlight for the boarder scene. The most popular meeting point is the half-pipe at the Idjoch chairlift.

Trend and lifestyle are also very important here on the piste, as the large freestyle park, the "Ischgl Snowpark" above the Idalp, only hints at. If it gets too crowded on the Idalp, you can switch to the Swiss part of the ski area. But be careful with duty-free shopping in Samnaun: ski customs officers keep an eye on overly bulging rucksacks.

The Pardatschgratbahn tricable gondola lift runs from the eastern village centre up to the Pardatschgrat and is therefore a perfect feeder lift to the Idalp. Of particular interest to freeriders, on the other hand, is the "Piz Val Gronda" aerial tramway, which opens up the terrain in the Fimba Valley, a 3 km long red piste and some unknown deep snow slopes. You can plunge into the powder fun directly from the mountain station - a must in the freeride hotspot of Ischgl.

Après ski Ischgl/Samnaun - Silvretta Arena

Ischgl is known as a stronghold of après ski and can certainly compete with any metropolis in the world with its vibrant nightlife. In addition to cosy ski huts, bars and restaurants, countless discos invite you to raise a glass to a successful day's skiing. The highlight of the colourful hustle and bustle is the lively après ski party, which takes place daily in the famous "Kuhstall". But there is also plenty of partying in the "Trofana-Alm" and in "Niki's Stadl". Among the discos in Ischgl, the "Madlein-Pacha" is at the forefront, also because it regularly offers a hot show programme. The crowning glory of all the shows is the annual open-air concert on the Idalp on 1 May, where mega stars such as Elton John, Bon Jovi, Sting, Pink, Wir Sind Helden and Bob Dylan have performed.

In contrast, things are much quieter in the many cosy cafés, where you can meet up for a delicious hot chocolate or coffee after having fun on the slopes. The Silvretta-Center also hosts a wide range of cultural events, from vernissages and concerts to theatre and cinema performances. The 7 km long night toboggan run with a height difference of 950 metres is certainly a unique experience. Furthermore, Ischgl offers paragliding tandem flights with professional flight instructors, so that anyone brave enough can get a little closer to the dream of flying on a skiing holiday.

Ischgl's Silvretta Therme spa with its sauna village, solarium and massages is the perfect place for those looking to relax and unwind after an exciting day on the slopes.

The night-time ski boot ban in Ischgl, on the other hand, is curious and controversial! If guests are travelling around the houses at night, it is best to avoid wearing ski boots. This is because it is not permitted to walk around Ischgl in ski boots from 8 pm to 6 am. This is to minimise noise pollution and avoid dangerous situations. Violation of the ban can result in considerable fines.

Snowpark Ischgl/Samnaun - Silvretta Arena: Ischgl Snowpark powered by Jeep
