Ski area Mountopolis - Mayrhofen/Hippach

With the "Zillertal Superskipass" you can enjoy 535 kilometres of piste in the Zillertal Arena, at the Mayrhofner Bergbahnen (Mountopolis), in the Ski & Glacier World Zillertal 3000, in the Hochzillertal - Hochfügen - Spieljoch ski area and in the Wildkogel Arena in Bramberg. Numerous freeride areas and snowparks complete the first-class range of pistes. The ski areas are perfectly connected by a free bus and train shuttle service. For some years now, the Zillertal Arena has also offered a free Wi-Fi network in its ski areas. So you can not only glide over the white splendour and enjoy the sun, but also share your experiences and highlights directly with your loved ones at home (see ski region).

Mayrhofen offers you 142 kilometres of piste fun on the Penken and Ahorn, 8.7 kilometres of ski routes and almost everything an athlete's heart desires: challenging black descents on the Penken - the famous "Harakiri" impresses even the pros with a 78 per cent decline - as well as wonderfully wide pistes for beginners and carvers on the Ahorn. The spectacular Penken Park is an international hotspot for all freestylers.

The lift company's suggested routes are the perfect way to explore the ski mountains around Mayrhofen. Experts can choose the HöhenmeterFresserRunde, for example, on which they can conquer a total of 13,000 metres in altitude. Another option is the Fun + Action circuit, which not only takes you to the Harakiri, but also to the popular PenkenPark and the ski area's race tracks. The Penken beginners' circuit and the Ahorn family circuit are more suitable for leisure skiers and families. Apart from the challenging descent to the valley, the Ahorn with its wide, sunny pistes is the perfect terrain for pleasure carvers, beginners and families anyway.

The entire ski area is connected by 45 lift systems and 16 magic carpets, including Austria's largest gondola, the Ahornbahn. In the Penken combination lift, you can even choose whether you prefer to sit in the gondola or the chair lift. Numerous snow cannons also ensure that the ski area is fully covered in snow.

The Hintertux Glacier in the "Zillertal Superskipass" ski pass network is also a special highlight: due to its size and challenging pistes, it is one of the best glaciers in the Alps. At 1,500 to 3,250 metres above sea level, Austria's only year-round ski area offers 64 kilometres of groomed pistes, 20 modern lift systems and, as a highlight, a twelve-kilometre descent to the valley.

Après ski Mountopolis - Mayrhofen/Hippach

First enjoy the marvellous descent and then celebrate a huge après ski party - that's Mayrhofen! A very popular meeting place in the ski area is the "Pilzbar" at the top station of the new 3S-Penkenbahn cable car. After the lift closes, it's on to the bars in the valley. Names like "Icebar", "Brück'n Stadl", "Yeti Bar" or "Hiata-Madl" are music to the ears of every après ski fan. After dinner, the party continues for the night owls. Mayrhofen has a lively nightlife to offer. If you want, you can party into the morning in clubs such as "Scotland Yard" or "New Speakeasy Arena". In the "Arena Night Club", party animals can enjoy themselves on three levels.

The Ahorn also offers a wide range of leisure activities for non-skiers. How about a winter hike in the unspoilt, wintry nature on the Penken and Ahorn? Numerous winter hiking trails such as the "WinterWanderWeg Penken", the "BergWaldWeg" or the "WinterWanderWeg Filzenkogel" provide moments of pleasure and impressive views of the surrounding mountains. A new highlight is the "AlbertAdler ErlebnisWeg", which leads to the "AdlerBühne Ahorn". The highest bird of prey station in Europe will delight you with majestic animals that can be marvelled at up close.

The "PistenBock tobogganing fun" stands for fast-paced descents for young and old. Those interested can take a look behind the scenes of the ski area's daily operations on a snowcat ride or a cable car tour at the Ahornbahn.

For those who prefer a more leisurely pace, you can meet nice people in one of the café bars or sample regional specialities in one of the numerous restaurants. As an exciting alternative, there are horse-drawn carriage rides through the Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region or ice skating on the ice skating rink. For the more adventurous, we recommend various ice waterfalls for ice climbing or paragliding, even in winter. In a safe tandem flight, you can get a taste of high-altitude air with fascinating views.

Snowpark Mountopolis - Mayrhofen/Hippach: PenkenPark

A very special highlight awaits fans of fun sports and creativity in Mayrhofen: the "PenkenPark", one of the best snowparks in Europe! Six perfectly shaped lines and a fantastic crowd have given the park a reputation that it lives up to. Pro Area, Advanced Area, Advanced Jib Area, Medium Area, Medium Jib Area and Kids Area promise a great time on the mountain for all skill levels.

The entrance to the park is located at an altitude of 1,800 metres between the 2,000-metre Rastkogel and Horberg peaks. The park also has its own 4-seater chair lift, the "Sunjet", and runs directly above the Pro Line, so you can marvel at the pros from above. Special events and contests take place here regularly.

The FunRide Ahorn with the FamilyPark, the Albert Adler Tour, the FunRide Sun-Jet and the FunRide Gerent with many child-friendly obstacles, waves, steep turns and snails also offer variety.
