Ski area Hochjoch

The Hochjoch ski area (700 m - 2,300 m) with 46 kilometres of pistes promises a holiday of a special dimension, especially for families with children and less advanced skiers. All of which thanks to its ultra-modern infrastructure, its many easy to medium-difficulty pistes and its special highlight, the NTC (New Technology Center). The equipment rental of the NTC, as one of the flagships of the centre is probably unique in its size with 5000 ski depots. You will also find the very latest trend sports equipment such as Skifox, Snowcycle, Snowblades etc. here. You can rent and return the equipment directly at the mountain station, so you don't have to take it down to the valley. The NTC also offers a (children's) ski school and the large NTC Dreamland for the little skiers.

Easy access to the ski area from Schruns is ensured by two cable cars directly on the boarder of the village. The Hochjoch Totale is a special feature among the pistes. With a length of 12 km, it is not only the longest downhill run in Vorarlberg and offers impressive views of the Montafon, but also the longest ski tunnel in the world - an absolute must-do for all winter sports enthusiasts! Together with the Silvretta Nova ski area on the left side of the valley near St. Gallenkirch, Gaschurn, the Hochjoch on the right side of the valley near Schruns, Silbertal has been one of Austria's largest ski areas since 2008, with a total of approx. 140 km of pistes: "Silvretta Montafon".

A popular meeting point in the skiing area is the adventure park, which is connected to the large equipment rental shop, where you can try out the latest trend and fun sports equipment such as for example Skifox, Snowscooter or Airboard. If you just can't get enough of the snow, even in the evening, you should definitely try out the longest illuminated night toboggan run in Voralberg, from Garfrescha to the valley of St. Gallenkirch and you can enjoy 5.5 km downhill toboggan fun.

Furthermore, there are numerous bars and pubs in the twin town of Schruns-Tschagguns, including the Limo discotheque in St. Gallenkirch, about eight kilometres away. In the most famous nightclub in the Montafon you can party to a combination of après ski and nightlife from 15:00 till 3:00 in the morning. In addition to tobogganing and winter hiking, Schruns-Tschagguns has the largest amusement park in Vorarlberg. The Aktivpark Montafon, offers a variety of activities and facilities such as an artificial ice rink and the opportunity to play curling and ice hockey.
