Ski area Pitztal Glacier & Rifflsee

The "Pitztal Glacier & Rifflsee" lift pass includes both the Rifflsee and Pitztal Glacier ski areas. This means that all winter sports enthusiasts have access to an area with approx. 66 kilometres of piste and 13 lift systems between 1,640 and 3,440 m above sea level - plus 3 km of off-piste runs. Excellently groomed pistes, fun parks, a half-pipe, deep powder snow and freeride areas, a floodlit piste and the high reliability of snow attract skiers, carvers and snowboarders alike.

The Rifflsee ski area (approx. 26 kilometres of piste) is particularly popular with families. Wonderful deep snow areas and a black descent also await you at Grubenkopf! A red descent to the valley takes you back to the valley station of the glacier lift and allows you to switch to the Pitztal Glacier ski area.

The highest ski area in Austria offers a unique nature experience with the highest igloo village in the world, complete with illuminated ice sculptures, bar and chill-out area. Another special feature is the Wildspitzbahn, a modern cable car that takes you to the futuristically designed mountain station at 3,440 metres above sea level in just a few minutes. The lift is also home to Austria's highest café, which has a free-floating sun terrace.

A snowpark with various elements will delight snowboarders in particular, and there are also great freeride areas on the Mittelbachferner. The ski tour through the Taschachtal valley proves to be an area for real experts. It is no coincidence that the Pitztal Glacier is the venue for one of the toughest freeride races, the Pitztal Wild Face.

Après ski Pitztal Glacier & Rifflsee

Numerous après ski bars and rustic pubs offer the opportunity to round off the day with a nightcap after skiing. The first mulled wine can be enjoyed on one of the sun terraces in the huts in the ski area. In the valley, you can continue in the Schirmhaserlbar, for example. In St. Leonhard, bars, restaurants and dance clubs such as the "Hexenkessl" or the "Bar Theis" invite you to enjoy the evening programme.

Winter hiking trails and numerous toboggan runs, some of which are floodlit in the evening and offer sledging fun from 200 metres to 6 km, offer sporty alternatives to the daily fun on the slopes. An absolute highlight is ice climbing on the "Big Ben", an approx. 30 m high ice tower next to the valley station of the Rifflsee cable car. Alpinists can also reach a top area for ice climbing via the Glacier Express: a glacier ice cave in the glacier ski area offers ideal conditions. But the Pitztal also offers more harmless activities such as ice skating, Bavarian curling and tennis.
