Ski area Pitztal Glacier & Rifflsee

The lift pass "Pitztaler Gletscher & Rifflsee" covers the two ski areas Riffelsee and the Pitztal Glacier. Skiers and snowboarders will therefore find approx. 40 km of pistes with 12 lifts and 4 magic carpets at altitudes from 1,640 - 3,440 m, and additional 3 km of varied descents. Wonderfully prepared pistes, fun parks, a half-pipe, deep powder snow and freeride areas, a floodlight piste as well high snow security attract skiers, carvers and snowboarders.

The Rifflsee ski area is especially suitable for families. However, a black piste and deep powder snow await you at Grubenkopf. A blue piste takes you down to the valley station and the glacier lift, from where you can change over into the Pitztal Glacier ski area.

As of the 2018/2019 winter season, the highest altitude ski area in Austria also offers a unique natural experience in the highest igloo village in world, with illuminated ice sculptures and a bar and chill-out area. A further rarity is the Wildspitzbahn lift, which was newly constructed in 2012, a modern lift that brings you to the futuristic ally designed lift station at an altitude of 3, 440 m. The lift station has the highest café in Austria, which consists of a floating sun terrace.

A snow park with various elements is perfect for snowboarders, whereas free-riders are attracted by perfect conditions at the Mittelbachferner. The ski tour through the Taschach Valley is something for real experts. It is not for nothing that the Pitztal Glacier is annual host to one of the hardest freeride races, the "Pitztal Wild Face".

Would you rather discover the entire Pitz Valley on skis or a snowboard? With the lift pass upgrade to the Gletscherpark Card Winter, you'll gain additional access to the ski areas of Hochzeiger, Imster Bergbahnen, Kaunertaler and Winterberg Fendels, with a total of about 120 km of pistes. With this, you can indulge in winter sports fun on a total of 76 pistes in six ski areas: the use of the ski bus in Pitztal is also free with the GLetscherpark Card Winter.

Après ski St. Leonhard

Various apres ski bars and rustic taverns offer fun and variety after a day of skiing. The first mulled wine of the day can already be enjoyed on the sun terrace of one of the ski lodges. In the valley you can continue the party e.g. in the "Schirmhaserlbar". In St. Leonhard you will find various bars, restaurants and pubs, such as the "Hexenkessel" or "Bar Theis" to fill an entertaining evening.

Sporty alternatives to fun on the piste can be found on winter hiking trails, on many toboggan runs, some of which are also lit up in the evening, and sledging over 200 right up to 6 km. A real highlight is the spectacular ice climbing terrain at the "Big Ben", a 30 m high ice tower alongside the valley station of the Rifflesee lift. A top area for ice climbing can be reached via the glacier express: in the actual glacier ski area the is an ice cave whit offers perfect conditions for alpine climbers. But there are also less daring activities available, such as ice skating and curling, or tennis - all on offer in the Pitz Valley.

Snowpark: Snowpark Pitztaler Gletscher St. Leonhard

Freestyling in perfect conditions and various areas is possible in the snow park on the Pitztal glacier. The park lies at the Mittelberg lift/piste 36 and is located at an altitude of 3,000 m. From beginners to professionals, no one will be missing out: the park set-up consists of a total of three areas with different jumps of all difficulty levels. Besides kickers, boxes and rails, the park offers a wave track for beginners as well as for advanced riders.

Freestylers can let loose in this park from autumn until spring, as the high altitude offers constant conditions during every season and time of day.
