Ski holidays Steinach am Brenner - centrally located in the Wipp Valley!

Steinach am Brenner

The small village of Steinach am Brenner is located about 25 km south of Innsbruck in the Tyrolean Wipptal valley. The famous Brennerstraße road winds its way past the village centre and the Brennerbahn railway stops at Steinach station, making the village very well connected. Thanks to its convenient location, Steinach is also the central village of the Wipptal valley.

The eye-catching and oldest building in the village centre is the Baroque parish church of St. Erasmus, which, with its large double-tower façade and neo-Romanesque porch, fascinates not only those interested in architecture. The turn-of-the-century villas and the courthouse, which was once Emperor Maximilian's hunting lodge, are also well worth seeing.

In addition to culture lovers, winter sports enthusiasts are also well catered for in and around Steinach. The Bergeralm ski area, which is practically on the doorstep, is one of the largest night skiing areas in Europe with its many floodlit slopes and 5 km long toboggan run.

Wipp Valley

The Wipp Valley lies in the heart of Tyrol and stretches from Innsbruck to the famous Brenner pass - hence, right down, close to South Tyrol. The valley offers a great number of idyllic side valleys and is a great recreational destination for many Innsbruck inhabitants. This has also leaked through to the tourists and so the area has become a popular holiday destination - both in summer and winter. The landscape, with it's impressive peaks along the main Alpine ridge is a true sporting paradise - for hikers, mountain bikers and of course for skiers. The closeness to the Innsbruck region is an extra benefit.
