Ski area Fernie

The Fernie ski area (1,068 to 1,925 m) consists of an extensive, over 1,000 hectare large terrain. Here, you can find 5 alpine bowls with 112 pistes, which consists of 30 blue, 40 red, and 30 (!) black. 9 lifts, with 2 being high speed, provide rapid transport, almost always without a waiting line. The ski area is considered to be extremely varied. With long, well-prepared pistes, gorgeous forest trails, steep runs, and untouched deep snow slopes, every ski and snowboard fan can get their full money's worth. In the ski area, 9 restaurants and huts take care of providing a lovely atmosphere and a relaxing place to rest. For the real pros, recommended is one of the guided tours, "first tracks" (skiing on pristine, deep-snow pistes) or "steep and deep". Sign ups can be carried out at the Telus Winter Sports School. Next to heliskiing, cost-effective catskiing is very common. Skiers will be taken to the untouched deep-snow slopes via snow cat. Providers are Island Lake Cat Skiing and Fernie Wilderness Adventure.

Après ski Fernie

Since 1962, the #1 place for apres ski in Fernie is the "Griz Bar". Here, you can enjoy beer on tap, daily drink specialities, fresh grilled prime rib burgers, and live music on Saturdays and Sundays. One of the new restaurants is the Red Tree, where you can go to enjoy versatile menus and palatable appetizers. You can find further leisure and sporting opportunities in Fernie, in Hülle and Fülle. The Fernie Aquatic Centre offers a swimming pool with steam bath and water slide. For those who are still a little sport-hungry in the evening, badminton, hockey, indoor soccer, curling, yoga, a climbing wall, and a fitness studio are yours to choose from. Outdoor activities include snowshoe hikes, snowmobile rides, and dog-sled tours. Whoever prefers a quieter stay can take a visit to the local brewery and museum, or check out the cinema. Also, a visit to the Alpine Spa & Leisure, or the Oasis Spa is worth recommending.
