Cross-country Liberec

The cross-country trails around Liberec are a renowned cross-country skiing area and even hosted the FIS Nordic World Championships in 2013. The main attraction of the cross-country trails in the region is the Jizera Mountains Main Line, a great network of trails for skiers of all levels, comprising a total of around 170 kilometres of trails. It can be reached via a total of 23 access points, including from Liberec. Once on the "cross-country skiing motorway", you have easy access to other trails that lead all the way to the Giant Mountains and Poland.

A Nordic sporting highlight takes place every year in Bedřichov, around 11 km from Liberec. The famous Jizerská 50 (Jizera Mountains Run) takes place here in January. At this major ski marathon, 5,000 amateur athletes and Nordic professionals run a 50-kilometre course, which is also part of the Jizera Mountains Main Trail.
