Ski holidays Lam - idyllic holiday oasis!

Lam

The climatic spa resort Lam is located in region Lamer Winkel, idyllically embedded in the valley between the mountains Arber and Osser, Kaitersberg and Hohenbogen. In the picturesque resort centre with its church St. Ulrich, the park and some nice inns, you can let yourself go an relax to the fullest. During the 15th century, the area profited largely from the local silver and copper mining. A local mine ("Fürstenzeche") which was closed back in 1732, now is used as museum mine and also functions for healing and therapy sessions.

Sports fans will find what they are looking for in the neighbouring ski areas Arber, Hohenbogen and Eck, with some diverse pistes, even including a World Cup slope in the Arber area, and snowboard funpark in Eck. For all those, who prefer peace and quite during their holiday, they will find Lam to be an excellent starting point to explore the local winter hiking trails or the extensive cross-country trail network and benefit from the clear, fresh air.

Bavarian Forest

The Bavarian Forest is central Europe's largest forest with 6,000 km² of wooded area. In 1970 the national park Bavarian Forest was created which, together with the Bohemian Forest, forms the largest coherent forestal nature reserve in central Europe with a total span of 900 km². Besides of the Alpine region, this region is also known for its affinity to winter sports. Families in particular will find exactly what they are looking for here. Those who prefer not to explore the Bavarian Forest on skis can also go on a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride. The lovely castles and monasteries of the Bavarian Forest are definitively worth while a visit. Numerous restaurant and quaint huts, which offer both regional and international culinary highlights, should also be high on your list of to-do's. Bischofsmais – skiing fun and relaxation against a marvelous winter backdrop!
