Ski area Braunlage Wurmberg

The ski area Wurmberg is the highest mountain of Lower Saxony with an altitude of 970 m and offers 12 diverse kilometres of pistes, as well as an approx. 800 m ski route. There are fun things to do for everybody. Beginners and children can take their first swings around the Hasselkopf lift, advanced skiers can take the ski route "Hexenritt" for instance. The longest pistes of the ski area with 4.3 km starts at the peak of the Wurmberg. A convenience for families: all pistes lead down to the valley station, so nobody can get lost. At the Sonnenpiste you will also find a small fun park.

The little ones can also switch to a toboggan or snow tube at the Wurmberg. There is a 1.5 km long toboggan run and a 200 m long snow tubing run.

Après ski Wernigerode

Après-ski in Wernigerode is more relaxed. Stop off at one of the restaurants in the historic town centre and enjoy a good meal. Afterwards, have a cocktail, e.g. in the Krummelschen Haus. For night owls there is also a discotheque.

The city's range of sporting activities is a lot bigger: there are various toboggan runs to choose from - the most beautiful of which is in Zwölfmorgental. You can hike through the Harz forests and explore the highest mountain in the region, the Brocken, and turn pirouttes on the ice surface of the Schierke ice stadium. In Hasseröde holiday park, the whole family can enjoy themselves in the large adventure pool, sauna area, go bowling or visit the indoor playground. Wernigerode castle with its originally furnished rooms is always worth a visit.
