Ski area Wurmberg - Braunlage

The Wurmberg ski resort, situated on Lower Saxony’s highest mountain at 970 metres, offers around 13 kilometres of varied slopes (including ski trails). Fun on the slopes is guaranteed for everyone here. Beginners and children can take their first turns in the snow around the Hasselkopf ski lift. For experienced skiers, the “Hexenritt” ski route is a good choice. The longest run in the ski resort stretches 4.3 km down from the summit of the Wurmberg. Handy for families: all runs end at the valley station. On the Wurmberg, the little ones can also switch from skis to sledge or snow tubes. There is a 1.5 km-long toboggan run and a 200 m-long snow tubing track.

Night skiing Wurmberg - Braunlage

In the Braunlage-Wurmberg ski area, you can also ski at night if the snow conditions are suitable: The Rathauslift takes winter sports enthusiasts up the mountain directly from Braunlage, even by floodlight. Skiing down under the stars and by moonlight included! Night skiing is only possible on a few days a week. However, you should also keep your ears and eyes open for spontaneous announcements about night skiing.

Après ski Wurmberg - Braunlage

If you're looking for a cold drink and good music after a long day of skiing in Braunlage, you'll also find it here. For example, in the umbrella bar at the valley station of the Hexen-Express or in the "Tenne Schwof & Schmaus Am Blueberry Hill", a former car repair shop that has been converted into a party location. For visitors who want to end the day on a more dignified note, the restaurants in the town centre are well worth a stop for a cosy break, where local gourmet specialities from the Harz Mountains are also served.

And the range of sports on offer is also impressive: These include the snow-covered toboggan run that leads from the middle station of the gondola to the valley station, a tubing area with its own lift at Hexenritt and the extensive network of lifts. There are also numerous winter hiking trails that lead through the picturesque forests of the Harz Mountains and the Braunlage ice stadium, where you can pirouette on the ice to your heart's content.

In contrast, it is much warmer and wetter in the indoor and leisure pool or in the Hasseröder holiday park, where the whole family can have fun in the large adventure bath, in the sauna area, bowling or in the indoor play world. Wernigerode Castle, with its original living areas, is also not far away and is always worth a visit.
