Night skiing Frankenlift Wurzbach

As small as the ski area in the heart of Thuringian Forest may be, it still does not miss out on the luxury of a small night skiing area. Like this, the family-friendly slope in Wurzbach is available for night skiing once a week, usually on Wednesdays. In addition to the lift's extended operation hours from 17:00 to 21:00, the intermediate piste is lit by floodlight. The Frankenlift tow lift takes you to the access of the slope that starts as a blue piste in the upper area. Further down, it is marked as a red piste also used in competitions. The family slope is approx. 800 m long and a part of it is illuminated, so that night-time skiing fun is possible on a length of approx. 300 m.

Après ski Frankenlift Wurzbach

Wurzbach does not set its focus on going out or partying. It is nature that plays the biggest part here, offering quiet and relaxation in many forms. Those who want to explore the surroundings on foot or with snow shows after skiing will find a wonderfol, woody landscape with approx. 120 km of hiking trails. Starting in Wurzbach, you can choose between the Thuringian Forest and the nearby Franconian Forest. Sledge rights on various toboggan runs or a hike to the observation tower at Wetzstein round off your afternoon after spending the day on the piste.

The best way to spend the evening is to sit in a comfortable restaurant, enjoying steaming Thuringian dumplings and a classic rostbratwurst. Entertainment for the whole family can be find in the small cinema showing films for adults and children. If you want to go on a day trip, the state capital Erfurt (approx. 95 km away) or Franzensbad in the Czech tri-bath area (approx. 100 km) are recommended destinations.

Snowpark Frankenlift Wurzbach: Funpark

The manageable ski area of Wurzbach unfortunately doesn't offer a snowpark, but it is not too far to go to get to the next fun area. Thuringia can be proud to present some quite advanced snowparks for freestylers. One of the most attractive parks of the region can be found in the ski area Heuchbach at Masserberg. Over approx. 600 m total length, a well-kept set-up with approx. 25 elements can be found. This offer is one of very few located north of the Alps and is worth a visit.
