SnowTrex defines sustainable accommodation as accommodation that actively takes measures to protect the environment and practises responsible use of resources. The criteria for selecting sustainable accommodation are designed to ensure a high level of environmental responsibility while promoting positive effects for the environment and local community. The following criteria are taken into account when selecting sustainable accommodation:

1. Basic requirement:Any accommodation we classify as sustainable must demonstrate at least one form of renewable energy use or implement significant energy efficiency measures. This forms the basis for reducing the accommodation's ecological footprint.

2. Additional criteria: In addition to the basic requirement, the accommodation must fulfil at least one of the following criteria:
  • Existence of a recognised environmental certification.
  • Verifiable waste reduction and recycling measures.
  • Active support of local communities and use of local or organic products
  • Transparent communication and reporting on sustainability efforts and performance.
