Ski holidays Arabba – holidays in the heart of the Dolomites!

Arabba

As part of the municipality of Livinallongo del Col di Lana, Arabba lies in the heart of the Dolomites. Here at an altitude of 1,602 m, winter sports fans can enjoy their holiday in the highest resort in the Dolomites!

As a result of its altitude, the ski area of Arabba is particularly reliable for snow, which has made it into a popular, but not overrun, winter sports destination. In addition to Italian flair and Ladin tradition, you can enjoy the fantastic views over the surround mountain landscape of the Dolomites, as well as a direct access point to the world-renowned Sella Ronda, a skiing track that connects all four Dolomite passes together.

Livinallongo Col di Lana

In the middle of the Dolomites lies the Ladin valley of Livinallongo Col di Lana, through which the river Cordevole flows. In the province of Belluno in the Veneto region, this valley is characterised by wide fir tree forests, snow-covered mountain massifs and broad terraces, and encompasses 100 square kilometres with only 1300 inhabitants. The residents are spread out over 29 districts, one of which being the winter sports resort of Arabba.

Winter sports fans value Arabba as a winter sport resort in particular because, as a result of its altitude at the foot of the Mormolada Glacier (3,342 m), it is particularly reliable for snow. Here, for example, you can find the perfect access point to the world-famous Sellaronda, which connects all four Dolomite passes to one another. On this circuit, skiers won't need to unfasten their skis at all! However, mountain lovers should also not miss out on the Alpine pass Pordoijoch or the mountain pass Passo di Falzarego.

Beyond the ski area in Arabba, holiday makers in Livinallongo Col di Lana can visit the Burg Andraz castle. Also called "Schloss Buchenstein" in German, the castle, which was built in 1027, has since become a ruin that reflects the history of the province: since the 19th century, parts of the province have belonged to Austria, then to Italy, then Austria again, then finally Italy once more. Equally worth seeing is the Ladin Museum in Pieve di Livinallongo, as well as the old mill in the winter sport resort of Arabba, among others.
