Ski holidays Obereggen - Egg-cellenct skiing delight!

Obereggen

In the late 60s, 11 young men dared to plan a ski lift in Obereggen (1,550 m), a mountain village in the heart of the Dolomites - a revolutionary move for the sleepy resort with its 20-bed allotment. Today, at the foot of the Latemar, a popular winter sports destination has come into being - and that one single lift has since then expanded into 22 modern lifts. The Obereggen ski area is now the annual venue for the traditional European Cup Race and, thanks to its connection with Pampeago and Predazzo, belongs to the Ski Center Latemar. Nevertheless, Obereggen has maintained its cosy little mountain village charm.

Being the highest village in Eggental (Val d'Ega), guests have a unique panoramic view of the surrounding peaks of both the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Latemar, as well as the Weißhorn and Schwarzhorn. Residents of Obereggen certainly know to appreciate its location. The resort itself is one of the "Pearls of the Alps" - 28 holiday destinations in the Alps hold this title, all of which have agreed to come together in support of environmentally-friendly mobility solutions, climate protection, and the preservation of nature.

Val d’Ega

The stunning Val d’Ega lies in the very heart of the Southern Tyrolean Dolomites and reaches from the gates of the state capital Bolzano up to Lake Carezza and the Latemar mountain range, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage list. The unique rock formations of Rosengarten and Latemar offer the perfect scenery for an unforgettable ski holiday, relaxation included. The attractive ski areas Carezza and Obereggen as well as some extraordinary excursion possibility, such as the earth pyramid of Steinegg, the place of pilgrimage Maria Weißenstein or the Ötz Museum in Bolzano will be a pleasure for friends of nature, culture fans and winter sports freaks alike.
