This year, 69 accommodations and 56 ski areas have received the SnowTrex-Award 2018. The basis for the award is composed of the ratings of our travellers from the 2017/2018 winter season. The most popular accommodations and ski areas from our selection boast a memorable seal both online and in resort.
Quality seal for the best ski areas and accommodations
Nothing is more authentic than real recommendations from past guests, which is why personal ratings are especially valuable to us. SnowTrex does not rely solely on its own expert ratings of the ski areas, but also on the judgement of the customers. Based on the ratings of our guests from the previous season, we were able to select the best ski areas and accommodations from the previous winter season and provide them with a SnowTrex-Award. In doing so, we are promoting the direct recommendations of our customers. This prestigious award allows guests to profit from the experience of others. For example, when travellers were quite impressed with the service from a certain hotel or enjoyed the aspects of a certain ski area, others can see this all in one place on our website. The winners hold the titles “Best Place to Ski” and “Top Hotel”.
How is the data collected?
Shortly after going on holiday with SnowTrex, customers receive a questionnaire with which they can share their personal feedback and rate their overall satisfaction in various categories. After all, the holiday experience is most present immediately after the winter holiday has ended. Categories that can be rated include service, board and facilities of the accommodation, the quality of the ski area, extra services like ski and snowboard lessons, as well as the price-service ration, among other things. All these data contribute to the overall ratings and recommendation rates, which are displayed on the website next to the respective products. All accommodations and ski areas with a specific minimum amount of ratings, as well as a recommendation rate of at least 80% (accommodations), or at least 8 out of 10 points (ski areas), receive a SnowTrex-Award this year.
Here’s what the award looks like
Prestigious customer-based awards, like the SnowTrex-Award, should certainly be seen. That’s why all winners receive a special seal, of which points out their special quality. Most of the winners are in Austria and France
This year’s winners are found mainly in Austria and France. A total of 69 hotels, apartments and pensions, as well as 56 ski areas from the SnowTrex selection, have received our coveted award for 2018. Austria received the most awards with a total of 29 ski areas and 41 accommodations. The most popular destinations in Austria include the ski areas of Arlberg, the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental, the Salzburger Sportwelt and the Zillertal Arena. The glacier ski areas in the Kauner Valley, the Stubai Valley and the Pitz Valley are also included. In France, 11 ski areas were among the winners, including the mega ski area of Les 3 Vallées as well as hotspots Alpe d’Huez, Grand Domaine Ski, Les 2 Alpes and Tignes-Val d’Isere.
The remaining alpine countries have also impressed with their holiday qualities. In the Italian Dolomites, Livigno, Plan de Corones and Monte Bondone were highly rated, and in Switzerland, the ski areas of Davos Klosters Mountains and Meiringen-Hasliberg have excellent winter sports opportunities available. In Germany, the ski area of Garmisch-Classic as well as the Zugspitzplatt are the top favourites, and the bordering ski areas of Fichtelberg (bordering the Czech Republic) and Oberstdorf, and the Austrian Kleinwalsertal also receive an award. These and many other destinations and accommodations have received an award.
