Ski area Grindelwald/First & Kleine Scheidegg/Männlichen

Ski area Grindelwald/First & Kleine Scheidegg/Männlichen

The lift pass "Jungfrau" comprises the areas Grindelwald/First, Kleine Schneidegg/Männlichen and Mürren/Schilthorn with a total of 206 km of pistes (see ski region). Interlaken is perfectly connected to the ski area due to the many rail lines. Additionally there is also a free ski bus that takes the guests from the holiday region Interlaken to Grindelwald. To make use of the free bus service you only have to be in possession of a valid hiking or tobogganing pass of the Jungfrau region or the "Jungfrau" lift pass, which needs to presented together with a fully filled-out guest card. Both ski areas have something to offer for everyone.

First is ideal for beginners with its large selection of easy pistes. But also snowboarders values this area. The snow park "White Elements" with slides, tables and jumps, superpipe and boardecross let a boarder's heart beat faster. The piste "First-Egg-Bort-Grindelwald" with a length of 6 km and an altitude difference of 1,118 m is challenging enough for experts and is known to one of the most difficult descents in the region.

The ski area Kleine Scheigegg/Männlichen is one of the most popular areas in Switzerland and is especially well-known for its 4.2 km long world cup piste at Lauberhorn. The broad pistes of the area are also great for beginners.

At the Schlitthorn you can look forward to pistes of all levels of difficulties, deep powder snow area, the "Skyline-Snowpark" and much more.

Après ski Interlaken

The lively resort Interlaken has much to offer, also once you have left the pistes. Pubs and discos are all located in close proximity and the place to be once the skiing day has come to an end. The "Holzer-Bar" in Grindelwald for instance, is a really typically cosy après ski bar which offers regional specialities to snack in between. Culinary highlights can also be found in the many restaurants in resort.

An Interlaken speciality are the so called "Schlittelwege" with a total length of over 70 km. These tracks are the typical Swiss toboggan runs. With 15 km length the longest is to be found between Bussalp and Grindelwald and is likely also the longest in entire Europe, and is also called "Big Pintenfritz". A night toboggan run is also available. Take a hike on the many winter hiking trails through the winter landscapes and enjoy the view of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. You can also find various natural ice rinks in the area surrounding Interlaken, such as e.g. in Brienz or on the Burgseeli.

Interlaken also offers an ice rink, a bowling centre, a climbing call, a public indoor pool ant the Victoria-Jungfrau Spa which promises relaxation after long skiing days. Families will enjoy the Indoor playground Mysty Land or the Erich von Dänikens Mystery World.

Snowpark: White Elements Snowpark Interlaken

The "White Elements Snowpark" in Grindelwald is nothing to sneeze at. Divided into three parks, the park offers good fun in the jumps and rails for beginners, intermediate as well as for pros. A 100 m long half pipe can also be found. The 850 metre long Pro Park at the Bärgelegg lift awaits you with its 25 metre high kickers and is nothing for people with weak nerves. At the Oberjoch you can find the Beginners Park which, thanks to its small kickers and boxes, is perfectly suited for freestyle beginners. The four-track Audi Skicross run is located at the Schilf lift. The run is designed in a way that allows everybody to try it out. Up to 4 persons at the same time can start the descent from the start gate. The "White Elements Snowpark" is prepared daily and leaves no wishes unfulfilled. Moreover, in a collaboration with the "Summit Foundation" it has an engagement for climate friendly skiing and snowboarding. Events such as the "Audi Snowboard Open Series" provide further incentives to pay this park a visit.

In Grindelwald, there is a special park for free riders. In a large field at the Mammut ATC avalanche training centre, you can try out the technology used in searching for avalanche victims.
