A lift pass is your ticket to the pistes, allowing you to make use of the cable cars and lifts of a particular ski area, or even an entire ski region.
Is the lift pass included in the holiday price?Unless otherwise stated, all holidays include a lift pass. One lift pass is included per traveller. In some resorts, there are special conditions for children's lift passes, which can be seen in the "Important Notes" section of an accommodation's description. If a lift pass cannot be booked, this will be shown as "no lift pass included" in the booking process.
When and how long is the lift pass valid?Unless otherwise stated, the lift pass is valid after the day of arrival until the day before departure. The validity of your desired lift pass can be seen during the booking process.
Can the lift pass validity be extended? The validity of the lift pass can generally be extended to include the day of departure during the booking process. If you would like to ski on the day of arrival, you can usually purchase a half-day or full-day lift pass directly from the lift office in resort.
Can the lift pass be upgraded? For some destinations it is possible to upgrade the lift pass to the ski region, allowing you to use further ski areas within a particular lift pass network. This can be seen during the booking process.
What is a keycard? In many resorts, the lift pass is distributed in the form of a keycard (electronic time card). These require a small fee, which is generally refunded by the lift office when returning the card.
Can a lift pass be removed?Should you not be needing a lift pass, you can choose to remove it during the booking process. Your holiday price will then be reduced by the cost of the lift pass. For some offers, the ability to remove the lift pass is not possible.
Do children need a ski pass and up to what age is it free? In the majority of ski areas, the lift pass is free for children up the ages of 5 or 6 years. Children must then usually be accompanied by a parent or ski instructor. In some ski areas, children up to the age of 10 or even 15 years can ski for free. When booking a package ski holiday, the correct age group will be assigned during the booking process.
Where can you collect the included lift pass? The lift pass can be retrieved from the lift ticket office or, in some cases, directly from the accommodation. More specific information about where you can collect your lift pass can be seen on your lift pass voucher that is sent with your travel documents.
Which services does a lift pass contain? In many destinations, your lift pass will grant you access to a number of further services and discounts. Along with the use of the ski bus and other methods of public transportation, lift passes in many resorts allow for discounted entry to local museums or thermal baths and pools, as well as for events like concerts and festivals. This way, you have a large selection of alternative leisure time activities after a day of skiing or for days where you would rather take a break from skiing.
Where can you buy cheap lift passes? When searching for discounted lift passes, winter sports fans will find what they're looking for here. When booking a package ski holiday, you have the chance to purchase a discounted lift pass. SnowTrex purchases lift passes for you at favourable conditions and passes this discount on to you in the form of low-cost package deals. Children will receive their ticket for the piste for a low price or even for free. This way, even popular and large ski areas can be skied in with lift passes at lower prices.
How can you track the kilometres of piste you have covered?More and more ski areas are offering to track the kilometres of piste you have covered with the keycard. After a day of skiing, you will receive an overview of the number of times you used the lift, the kilometres covered while skiing and further statistics. All you have to do is enter the lift pass number on the ski lift website. Afterwards, the lifts and pistes utilised during the day are displayed in addition to the meters of altitude conquered and the kilometres skied. A large selection of ski areas and ski regions also offer the option to print out the information directly after the final descent from machines provided by Skiline.
