Cross-country Kappl im Paznauntal

Information on cross-country skiing

74.5 km Cross-country trails (in km):

Although the Paznaun Valley is particularly well-known for its excellent range of pistes, the region around Ischgl and Galtür is also an insider tip for cross-country skiers. From Kappl, fans of Nordic skiing can easily reach Galtür by ski bus and enjoy 74.5 kilometres of cross-country trails. The cross-country ski trails are available free of charge and have even been awarded the cross-country ski trail seal of approval. The trails impress with their guaranteed snow from the beginning of December right through to spring and offer plenty of variety thanks to their different levels of difficulty.

The east trail, for example, which circles Galtür, is 6.7 km long, while the west trail from Galtür to the cable car valley station in Wirl is 6.6 km long. The almost 6 km long route to Ischgl is also perfect for enjoyable cross-country skiing: it runs along the Trisanna river and climbs only slightly with an altitude difference of 110 metres. The longest trail, 25.7 km, which connects Galtür with Ischgl, is only recommended for well-conditioned skiers. The circuits into the Jamtal valley and, past the Silvretta reservoir, to the Bieler Höhe are particularly scenic - but be careful, a sporting spirit is required here: in one direction it's either all uphill or all downhill! A special highlight is the high-altitude trail that leads to the Silvretta reservoir at 2,040 metres.

Cross-country skiers who can't get enough even after dark are in luck: on the 2 km long floodlit night trail between Galtür and Wirl, guests can make their tracks until 22:00 under a clear starry sky and perfect snow conditions. Whether you prefer the classic style or the skating variant - cross-country skiers are in top form here!
