In Mieming's neighbouring resort Obsteig lies the huge "Kinderland Grünberg". On the large winter playground, children and beginners alike will find perfect conditions for getting some first practice in, but also adults can get some swings done, whilst the little ones are entertained in ski school. Up the mountain on the practice lift, and down again past colourful obstacles or down longer pistes for more experienced skiers, or choose to take the toboggan instead. The restaurant and children's area in Obsteig are welcome access points for families.

In the "Skiregion Kühtai - Hochoetz" you have access to both ski areas Hochoetz and Kühtai, with a total of 84 km of piste (incl. ski routes). Access to the nearest located ski area Hochoetz is approx. 22 km away, in Sautens. 36 km of piste wind through pretty forest areas and provide an impressive backdrop. Mostly blue and red piste can be found here and these are accessible via 28 lifts. Due to the manageable size, this area is especially suited for families. A really great run from Brunnenkopf leads all the way down to Ochsengarten, and with its length of 5 km and a difference in altitude of 610 m, it's the longest run there. A permanent, public race track is also available for speed demons.

Children can burn off energy in the Hocheotz children's area and test their skills at the children's obstacle course "Auf den Spuren der Wildtiere" (German for "on the tracks of wild animals").

The ski area Oetz/Hochoetz is especially popular due to its family-friendliness, which includes child-care facilities for children from 2 years in the Kindergarten and the 3 ski schools, as well as the "Happy Family Weeks", in which there are special reductions on offer.

For more fun in the snow, you can explore the 9 ski areas of the massive "Olympia Skiwelt" with a total of 300 km of piste. Guests staying in Mieming can easily access these areas via the free ski and hiking busses.
