Hochoetz-Kühtai ski region Ski area
With the "Skiregion Kühtai-Hochoetz" lift pass, you have access to two diverse ski areas with a total of 90 kilometres of slopes (including ski routes) and 27 lifts. Kühtai and Hochoetz are linked by a free ski bus running every 15 minutes, making it easy to combine them in a single day’s skiing.
Kühtai, Austria’s highest winter sports resort, is situated at an altitude of 2,020 metres. The ski area offers 49 kilometres of slopes (including ski routes) and 12 lifts, as well as wide runs of varying difficulty levels. Thanks to its high altitude, the ski season in Kühtai usually runs from late November to late April. The short distances are particularly convenient: many accommodation options are situated right on the slopes or just a few steps away from the lifts – ideal conditions for genuine ski-in/ski-out access.
As well as the perfectly groomed slopes, Kühtai offers plenty of variety with the KPark, deep-snow slopes and other winter sports activities. The high-alpine panorama and the location above 2,000 metres make the ski resort attractive to both experienced skiers and families, as well as those who ski for pleasure.
The offering is complemented by the family-friendly Hochoetz ski resort, with 41 kilometres of slopes (including ski routes) and 15 lifts. Situated above Oetz, the ski resort is easily accessible via the Acherkogelbahn cable car. Mainly blue and red runs, as well as special offers for families and children, ensure a varied skiing experience.
During the "Happy Family Weeks" from 05/12 to 19/12/2026, from 09/01 to 23/01/2027 and from 13/03 to 20/03/2027, families can benefit from special offers in Hochoetz. Children born in 2021 or later are eligible, subject to certain conditions, for a free lift pass as well as a free 5-day ski course or free 5-day childcare. One of the requirements is a minimum stay of seven nights in one of the participating resorts.
For those who find 90 kilometres of slopes not quite enough, the Ötztal Super Ski Pass opens up additional opportunities in the Ötztal ski resorts.

Night skiing Hochoetz-Kühtai ski region
A particular highlight is night-time skiing in Kühtai. Every Wednesday and Saturday, the slopes around the HochAlterBahn and StartBahn are floodlit. From 19:00 to 21:30, skiers and snowboarders can enjoy the slopes under the floodlights. After a day’s skiing, Kühtai boasts numerous cosy huts, restaurants, bars and sun terraces where you can stop for a bite to eat or a drink. Thanks to the compact layout of the winter sports resort, many of these are accessible directly from the slopes or within walking distance of your accommodation. Tyrolean hospitality and the high-alpine panorama ensure a relaxing end to your day’s skiing. In Hochoetz, there are also various options, such as Lothar’s Kellerbar or the Schirm near the Acherkogelbahn valley station.
Kühtai & Hochoetz also have plenty to offer away from the ski slopes. Winter walks, snowshoe hikes, cross-country skiing, ski touring or a ride on the floodlit toboggan run provide plenty of variety.
Those looking to unwind after a day’s winter sports can also take a trip to Längenfeld. There, the Aqua Dome offers a spacious thermal baths, sauna and spa area.

Snowpark Hochoetz-Kühtai ski region: KPark Kühtai & WIDI Fun Park Hochoetz
Freestylers will also find plenty to enjoy in the Kühtai-Hochoetz ski region. The KPark Kühtai offers a varied freestyle area catering for different skill levels. A range of obstacles provide challenges and variety. In addition, Kühtai features a SnowCross course and a KidsPark, where children and funpark beginners can gain their first experiences.
In Hochoetz, the WIDI Funpark complements the offering with playful elements for children, beginners and anyone who wants to try out their first tricks on skis or a snowboard.
