Ski area Turracher Höhe

With the "Carinthian lift pass" you have the opportunity to do some real ski area hopping during your holiday: It is valid in a total of 30 ski areas in Carinthia and East Tyrol. From the spacious Nassfeld - Pressegger See to the spectacularly situated Heiligenblut under the Großglockner to the renowned Bad Kleinkirchheim or the Mölltal Glacier, which is open all year round - the lift pass covers the entire diversity of the southern Alpine region. Smaller, family-friendly areas such as Sillian, Obertilliach or Katschberg are also part of the offer. What a choice!

The local ski area of Turrach opens up 42 kilometres of pistes, accessible via 19 lift systems (including conveyor belts). A lot of emphasis is placed on service in the clearly laid out, family-friendly Turracher Höhe ski area: The piste butlers provide winter sports enthusiasts with a glass of Prosecco - and younger guests with sweets. Deckchairs in particularly beautiful places in the ski area invite you to relax. If you want to warm up in between, retreat to the "living room" at the Kornockbahn valley station - where you can also watch current major sporting events on a big screen.

The ski area on the high plateau on the border between Carinthia and Styria is an ideal destination for leisure skiers and families. The Schafalm cable car extends the popular area with additional varied, perfectly groomed pistes.

Children can gain their first experience in the snow on the Ottifantenlift or Engländerlift, while experienced winter sports enthusiasts can make their turns below the mountain station. On the northern slope, an FIS descent awaits real experts. And the "Turrach-Runde 2,205 m" offers the opportunity to ski around the Turracher Höhe in an anti-clockwise direction - a unique skiing and nature experience.

Night skiing Turracher Höhe

A special highlight on the Turracher Höhe is night skiing - an experience for winter sports enthusiasts of all ages. Every Wednesday evening, a floodlit piste around 500 metres long is opened at the Übungswiesen lift (subject to change, current information on site). From 20:00 to 21:30, skiers can make their turns in the dark and moonlight and really let off steam one last time. Practical: night skiing is included in the lift pass, so after a short break in the afternoon, all you have to do is strap on your skis - and the fun continues.

Après ski Turracher Höhe

In the huts and umbrella bars in and around the ski area, you can round off your day's skiing with a cosy nightcap. Those who still haven't had enough afterwards can meet up in the evening in the popular "Noch 1 Lounge" in Turrach. Alternatively, there are numerous restaurants with regional specialities to enjoy - including the "Gasthaus zum Bergmann", one of the highest toque-awarded restaurants in the region, a real insider tip for gourmets.

Those who want to spend the afternoon actively can go on a winter hike: around 28 kilometres of well-maintained trails lead through the snow-covered landscape. Snowshoe hikers will also find the best conditions here. The "Nocky Flitzer", a 1.6-kilometre-long Alpine rollercoaster, is perfect for adventure-seekers - especially the younger ones. Skate across the frozen Turracher See lake, whose natural ice surface is even illuminated in the evening - as is the toboggan run, which is open twice a week in the evening.

If you're more in the mood for relaxation, take a trip to Bad Kleinkirchheim, around 28 kilometres away. There, two renowned thermal spas - the Therme St. Kathrein and the Thermal Römerbad - await with sauna landscapes, spacious bathing areas and soothing wellness.

Snowpark Turracher Höhe: Turracher Höhe

Located at 2,030 metres above sea level right next to the Kornockbahn cable car, the Turracher Höhe snowpark is one of Carinthia's freestyle hotspots. With a length of 1.5 km and four different lines, both beginners and pros will get their money's worth here.

For those who want to get a taste of freestyle for the first time, the beginner line with banks, waves, transitions, beginner boxes and a new wave box is just right. The family line offers even more variety with flatter ski jumps and its own access - ideal for families with children. Advanced freestylers will find a kicker line with jumps between 2 and 5 metres on the medium line, supplemented by boxes, rails and other obstacles. For real experts, the advanced lines offer a challenging jib zone with fat tables and pro obstacles. The new advanced rail area offers ideal conditions for extended hike sessions, especially in the lower part of the park. The shape crew ensures top-prepared obstacles every day - freestyle fun at its best is guaranteed.

In addition to the snowpark, the Turracher Höhe also offers a funslope, a new funcross and a kids' slope for the youngsters. The Funslope and Funcross feature banked turns, waves, high-fives, small jumps and a very special element: the world's only double screw - high-speed fun included
