Ski area Plan de Corones
Beginners, children and families will love the Korer cable car with its 8-person gondola; here you will find a 100 m wide piste with a 160 m difference in altitude. The Plan de Coronoes is known as a very child friendly ski area with many attractions for the small ones. For instance, "Croniworld" can be found at the peak of Plan de Corones, where parents can watch their children's progress and at the same time enjoy a beautiful 360° panorama.
The "Sylvester" and "Herrnegg" valley runs, however, challenge even experts and experienced alpinists! Two floodlit pistes are available for night skiing. Snowboarders can burn off steam on the half-pipe. No other ski area is so diverse and varied as Plan de Corones! The area is also known as host to various sports events, e.g. Snowboard World Cup, Biathalon World Championship or the international Valle di Casies run, the largest sporting event in South Tyrol.
In order to guarantee the perfect skiing experience, the ski area is regularly upgraded: The ever-popular sun lift has been replaced, completely modernised and equipped with many new features such as heated seats and protective bonnets. Free Wi-Fi is available in the Miara cabins and the snowmaking systems have been improved. In the 19/20 season, the non-detachable Rara chairlift was replaced by the modern ‘Skitrans Bronta’. Since its construction, it has held the title of the shortest 12-seater gondola lift in the world and connects the valley stations of the ‘Miara’ and ‘Pedagá’ gondolas.
For an even larger selection, you can upgrade to the lift pass "Dolomiti Superski" and choose from 1,200 kilometres of piste and 450 lifts. At many ski pass sales locations in the "Plan de Corones" ski area, you have free-of-charge access to Wi-Fi hotspots. With an upgrade to the "Dolomiti Superski" ski pass, even more hotspots in mountain railway stations and in restaurants in the different ski areas are available.
