Ski area Drei Zinnen Dolomiten

With the ski pass "Drei Zinnen Dolomiten", around 100 kilometres of pistes and 49 lifts in the Drei Zinnen Dolomiten ski area are available for you to use. The entry point can be reached after around 14 km. The ski area allows for access to the mountains of Helm, Steigarten, Rotwand, Haunold and the ski area Comelico. The ski area Drei Zinnen Dolomiten, in the untouched nature of the UNESCO world heritage site of the Dolomites, offers challenging pistes perfect for carving as well as easier slopes for families and beginners. With the 34 km long ski circuit "Giro delle Cime", the beauty of the Dolomites can be explored.

A half hour away from Comelico Superiore, Innichen's four-person chair lift travels directly up to the family paradise Haunold, at an altitude of up to 1,500 m. The 8 pistes are all easy to medium difficulty and are perfectly suited for beginners and children. Four ski huts allow for you to keep your strength up.

On the extra-wide pistes at the Kreuzberg pass, you can follow in the footsteps of Marc Girardelli, once the best ski racer in the world. It was here that he once prepared for his future success.

Equally suitable for beginners is the ski centre Rienz. It is manageable in size and allows for a very comfortable start with winter sports. However, skiers who like a challenge can get their money's worth on the Trenker slope. Here, various national teams train for upcoming World Cup races.

Rules of conduct on ski pistes in Italy

In order to ensure safety on the ski pistes in Italy, new safety regulations will come into force from 2022. In order to use the ski areas, everyone must have liability insurance that covers damage to third parties. It will also be possible to take out this insurance on site for individual days. Drunken skiing is prohibited and punishable by heavy fines, with a maximum of 0.5 mg of alcohol per litre of blood. To reduce the risk of injury, helmets are also compulsory for all minors when skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.

From 19:00 up until 22:00, the 20 km distant Haunold is floodlit and offers great night skiing, as well as night tobogganing on the 3 km toboggan run. The giant Haunold-Hütte is open during these hours and offers typical South Tyrolean dishes. There is enough space for everyone in 1,493 m-altitude hut, even for larger groups or families.

Après ski Comelico Superiore

The municipality of Comelico Superiore is in a rather peaceful location, where nature takes centre stage. With the mountain lifts it is easy to get to the starting points of the numerous snow shoe hikes aside from the large routes. At the exit for the mountain lift, there is also the starting point for winter hikes through the extensive laid network in the Drei Zinnen Dolomiten area.

Tobogganing counts among the most popular of the winter sports, particularly for families. In the ski area of Drei Zinnen Dolomiten the lifts can town you up to the summit. The strenuous part of tobogganing is therefore eliminated, meaning you can concentrate exclusively on the downhill sledding fun.

Feeding the reindeer at the mountain station Rotwand isn't just an unforgettable experience for kids. Visitors can lend a hand in serving the smallest herd of reindeer in the Alps their daily meal - surely a highlight for the whole family.

Those who can endure a bit more adrenaline should take advantage of one of the special offers in the ski area and get a insight into the world of a snow cat driver. The black piste "Holzriese" isn't just a challenge for skiers! In order to guarantee perfect snow and slope conditions, the black piste is prepared evening in the Free Fall Ride.

In the Helm Restaurant you can indulge in culinary delights at an altitude of 2,050 m, as well as taking in an unforgettable view of the Sexten sundial. The Sexten sundial is the largest stone sundial in the world. The mountain names of the five Dolomite peaks, Neuner (nine), Zehner (ten), Elfer (eleven), Zwölfer (twelve) and Einser (one), correspond with the path of the sun.

Snowpark: Shaka Snowpark Comelico Superiore

In the Drei Zinnen Dolomiten area there are multiple snowparks. One park is only for children, and has 3 tables, a small woops line and other structures for learning your first tricks. In the Easy/Medium Park, with 8 tables over 450 m, each with a kicker and jib structure as well as a wave T box, rainbow T box and a long straight box, these tricks can be perfected.

At the lower valley lift in Haunold, there is a children's skicross route with 6 curves, 12 waves and 4 jumps. Here, freestylers can romp about on the legendary World Cup skicross piste. Each December the world's best skicrossers compete here.

A real highlight is also waiting in the Rienz Skicenter Toblach. The Shaka Snowpark is 200 m long and offers a Big Airbag with a 2.5 m high kicker, a medium kicker of 1.5 m and an easy kicker of 0.5 m.
