Fans of Nordic sports are not left behind in Salzburg's Saalachtal. The Saalachtal offers a network of 80 kilometres of idyllic cross-country trails. Easy circuits are mainly found in the valley.
For those looking for more challenging routes, the sun-drenched high altitude cross-country ski trail on the Lofer Alm (1,450 - 1,500 metres) is recommended. There is also an excursion option to the Winklmoosalm on the Bavarian side. The 12 km long trail leads slightly uphill and therefore requires a little fitness. If you don't want to miss out on Nordic fun after sunset, you can still do your laps on the "Kellerwald" floodlit trail near St. Martin.
And if you would like to learn this exciting sport, you are also in good hands here. Against a beautiful backdrop and on many different, easy cross-country trails, you will quickly find joy in Nordic skiing.
