Ski area Ankogel - Mallnitz
The charming village of Mallnitz at the foot of the Ankogel is a family insider tip. In the spacious ski area at the Köfele lifts in the valley, even beginners will quickly get the hang of it. The snow minis rely on Penguin Bobo and his children's ski school. The local mountain Ankogel (1,267 m - 2,637 m) is right at the top of the Austrian ski area popularity scale with around 13 km of pistes and fantastic descents. The wide and open summit slopes with magnificent views as far as the Großglockner and the Dolomites and the 7 km descent to the valley to Mallnitz with an altitude difference of 1,370 metres are particularly addictive. It is Carinthia's longest piste with the greatest reliability of snow. The Ankogel also has a legendary reputation among freeriders.
On the Mölltal Glacier (2,100 m - 3,120 m), the Ski & Board Academy is also a great place for beginners. With around 17 kilometres of pistes, the "Mölli" is open to all winter sports techniques. A total of nine modern lift systems, including the underground Mölltal Glacier Express, transport you comfortably up to the glacier on the Schareck. The tree-free "Cinemascope pistes" will have carvers in raptures. Real calf-biteers take on the 7 km long, highest descent in Carinthia on the Mölltal Glacier. The snowboard fun park with boardercross, jumps and wave run and the wide treeless summit slopes just below the three-thousand metre mark are among "Mölli's Best for Boarders".
Après ski Ankogel - Mallnitz
At the Ankogel, things are rather cosy even after skiing. Instead of an exuberant party atmosphere, visitors can expect a relaxed atmosphere surrounded by impressive nature. If you still fancy a drink and a good atmosphere after a day's skiing, the Ski Zirkus Ankogel après ski bar at the valley station is the place to be. With music, occasional events and a sunny terrace, it's the perfect place to round off a day's skiing - relaxed, cosy and with a view of the mountains. Perfect for anyone who prefers après ski to be a little quieter.
Snowpark Ankogel - Mallnitz: Funpark Mölltaler Gletscher
There is no fun park or half-pipe on the Ankogel. However, those who still want to get their money's worth will find a fun park in the Mölltal Glacier ski area.
An above-average number of hours of sunshine and the glacier's fun park attract professional boarders to the ski area and make it a popular meeting place. In the fun park, you'll find wave runs, kickers and jumps.
Sound too boring for you? Then you should check out the boardercross course and join the pros on the scene for a whole new experience. The term "boarders' paradise" is no exaggeration here! If there are any freeriders among you, they will get their money's worth on the deep powder snow and off-piste descent routes away from the marked pistes.
