Ski area Bürgeralpe - Mariazell

With the "Schiland Voralpen" lift pass, you can enjoy a total of 41 kilometres of piste in the Bürgeralpe, Mitterbach and Annaberg ski areas.

The Bürgeralpe ski area offers 12 kilometres of piste. With a cable car, two 4-seater chair lifts and three t-bar lifts, the Mariazeller Bürgeralpe presents itself today as a modern family ski area with perfectly groomed pistes of all levels of difficulty, which has been awarded the Styrian Piste Quality Seal. Due to the favourable geographical location of Mariazell, which is encircled by a mountain range, there is an exceptionally large amount of snow at the relatively low altitude (868-1,267 m). Modern snowmaking technology ensures that winter sports can continue right into spring. For snowboarders, there is a fun park with video recording on the Bürgeralpe, while experts can let off steam in the children's ski area.

Also within easy reach are the "Gemeindealpe" (with a decline of up to 43 per cent) in Mitterbach and the "Annaberg" ski area with 13 kilometres of piste.

Après ski Bürgeralpe - Mariazell

Away from the piste, Mariazell is a rather quiet place. Here, it's less about partying and more about culinary delights. The numerous cafés, patisseries and restaurants in the village offer plenty of this with their Mariazell specialities. Sporting fun is not limited to cross-country trails and pistes. Guests can try their hand at skijoring, for example. Never heard of it? This snow sport has its origins in the Scandinavian countries. Athletes on skis are pulled through the snow-covered landscape by a horse and rider while hanging on to a tow rope.

Without horsepower, tobogganists can descend the 1,700-metre-long toboggan run on the Bürgeralpe - even in the evening under floodlights. If you prefer a quieter experience, you can try your luck ice fishing in the Erlaufsee lake nearby in St. Sebastian. The lake also offers the opportunity for ice skating and ice diving.

Snowpark Bürgeralpe - Mariazell: Snow park

Unfortunately, there is no snowpark in this ski area. However, you will find one of the largest snowparks in Lower Austria in the nearby Gemeindealpe Mitterbach ski area. Beginners and advanced skiers will get their money's worth here on the various elements.
